Is the m203 "Lame"?

Some people like using other weapons. If everyone was a 203 user no one would get any CPs just kills because thats all that would be used. Why go up and shoot someone or knife them when you could get an instant kill with the 203 if you can hit someone at *insert range here* It'd be pointless for everyone to be a 203 user. The 203 IS a good weapon and I like the fact that people use it, but when you use it in such a coward like way, ie: "bunny hopping" and shooting it at your feet killing the enemy and possibly only hurting yourself, or sprinting around a cornor and 203'ing someone 2 feet infront of you. Like said the 203 is ONLY lame when used in such a way, but otherwise when used in a real fight ie: 30 feet out against 3 people, then this is the perfect use for it as they don't have any hand grenades which is basically the same. You dont' see a medic "bunny hopping" and throwing a frag at his own feet do you, or an engie or SF or anything else. What about the Claymore while your at it......

It pisses me off when people walk around with the 203 and never use a real gun just to get a few cheap kills but i never complain or votekick or anything like that.

It pisses everyone off when someone just pop's around a cornor then lobs a 203 at you then runs to do it someone else. I just say "real cheap dude" then get on with my game since it IS A GAME after all. I just ask for an arming distance thats all, force them to fight fair in a close combat situation. Though atleast its not like games such as Planetside where rockets and grenades don't kill....here it actually does.

there isnt a problem with the 203 but it does piss me off a good deal..the fact that im dead the second i see the guy or even before i see him..but im not gonna call u a lame noob cuz u used the 203..its a part of the game and i just find enjoyment out of hunting u down and killing u..

I always got moaned at in Delta Force Black Hawk Down for using the M203, so i automatically think its n00b and never use it. But i suppose its not n00b if its included in the game. Real soldiers use it, im sure the people getting shot at in the streets don't stop and yell "your a n00b".

I know the feelin m8, a lot of clans banned it. At the time i was on 56k and its just unstopable. Almost as bad as the 5 claymores at one time was lol... Happy days :laugh:

The other players are just mad because you killed them, so they make excuses. Those are the real noobs. Good players should be able to kill anybody with any weapon no matter the situation. They oviously failed to do that. Keep on using it.

So i was playing on my clans ranked server last night, the virtual warriors.

We where doing a 32 man conq on strike at karkand. I was using my usual class, assault.

After 2 consecutive rounds in first place, 2 publics in the server started kick votes against me saying i was a noob lamer because i was using the m203.

Now i mostly use the 3 round burst with the m16, or single for distanced shots, unless i need to reload in a hurry at which point i use the m203.

Or if i know there is going to be an area where there are pockets of enemy in the one spot i will use m203 because lets face it, 4+ enemy you get the choice of one to kill and the rest nail you, so of course im gonna use a 203.


The odd exception maybe ill be rounding a corner with the 203 and an enemy is there so ill hit him at the feet because if i switch to the rifle im dead!

Here is my m16 kills in the game, note i have far more time with m16 and more kills with the rifle mode of the weapon.



What are your views on this?

someone tried to vote kick you on your own clan server? thats reason for a ban in my book

Ok....Well I use the M203 however I use it when someone's about 50metres away and he's pinned me down with fire,you have to be fairly skilled to use it at distance.Have to admit to useing it at close range when i've ran out of rounds on my M16 but I do see people running around with M203 ready from word go which is noobish.
It's just how you use it.
