ummm... not really on-topic here but when do the stats get updated? I just got the Ground Defense Ribbon and... it isn't in 'Awards' or as you can see in my sig. I meen I got it literally like 130 seconds ago. :cry:

I got mine on purpose. But I came very close once. I have 6 kills and 19 deaths. We had one base left which was getting raped and us few players who spawned Anti-Tank were able to hold of the armor.
As for the people who have it: You can look up the stats of the top players who have an excellent KDR and they have a Purple Heart. But only 1. I have yet to see someone who has 2.Comment

Its a 1:4 ratio.
And doing it on a brand new account is exactly the same... you still got at least 5 kills and 20 deaths in one round.Comment

i want this medal just to have it... but i've tried... even when my team is getting completely base raped i haven't died over 15 times... its rather frustrating
but my friend, hes really good... hes got like 15 purple hearts... the funny part, he didn't get them on purpose... hes that bad... when he got his first one he was like "alright! do you guys have one?" and me and my buddy were like "no, but go you *laugh*"... its basically the "thanks for buying our game" award for people who are really bad... but i still want one...Comment

I got mine after a couple of rounds of trying...can be harder than you think.
Way I did it was got up to like 4 kills and 16 deaths, let myself die the rest of the 4 times, then after I died got the 5th kill...got awarded instantly.
Funny thing was, I had to BEG my teamates to stop reviving me like 20 times...I'm like, "Plz don't revive me, you don't understand," etc. It was funny, but really frustruating at the same time.

ehh, curse the people that purposly do exactly whats needed to get an award...Im a strong believer in playing as best you can in w/e area you want. You'll be rewarded accordingly. Of course this goes harshly against the purple heart. I do believe it stands for a poor meaning in this game, however giving what it means, I laugh at you if you have it. In reality I think trying to die just to get a medal is redicilous and would never do such a thing...If im having a bad day and i get it..well fine, but no way am i throwing myself willingly at such a loser's medal...sorryComment

I got it on my third try, its tough as hell to get killed 20 times in a game then get exactly 5 kills so you have the ratio. I accidently killed 6 the first two times but got it on my third try. Shame such an honorable medal in real life is a joke in this gameComment

The Purple Heart in this game is 'supposed' to be for those who show a willingness to help their team mates, while having little regard for their own safety - those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for their team.Originally posted by Seany
I.e.- a medic who has no qualms about running into the line of enemy fire in order to heal or revive injured team mates. That's how you're 'supposed' to earn this medal naturally in the game. Of course, due to the way it was implemented, it doesn't always work out that way. However, the Purple Heart in this game is not always a 'noob' award. It can be a sign of someone who shows great team play at the support classes.Comment
