shouldnt a purple heart be measured by like the number of revives you receive in a game or something? that would make a lot more sense then just going gung-ho suicide. which by the way is hilarious.

no, it's not a 1:4 overall. It's a 1:4 in a round. With a min. 5 kills 20 deaths. And you can get multiple like podium finishes.

I've gottne 1. I loaded in and my team was getting raped, no way to switch over with my clanmates, so, what the hell? And i went for it.

And you know what? it's hard to get a ratio like that when you are actually trying to.

Dont know about that, I believe i have had that once (actual tried to on purpose just screwing aroun) and did not get it. I had like 7 kills and 28 deaths. Nothing. But id rather not have it than say "eww yay the distinguished purple heart".
So when do we get the important medals like the "flying cross" or the "combat infantry medal". I only see people with the usual gold, s, and b cross. Even sergents.

I got the purple heart when I went for my pistol badge. I have a friend that actually got it un-intentionally. We tease him at work about it

I believe you get it AFTER you finish the round, you can't just kill one, die 4 times and quit. You have to finish the round.

One question. If you have a 1:5, 1:6 ratio etc. do you still get it? I want to get it for my collection.

I think it should be awarded to those who get 10 teamscore while having less than 50% health.

actually, me, my brother, and my best friend all got the purple heart unintentionally when we started playing the game. i actually got it twice unintentionally, but for some reason the 2nd one didnt register (thank god)

this is a way for EA to make us feel better..we get this medal to try to keep us happy since they know none of us will ever get any of the other medals besides gold silver and bronze

I got it....twice. Once I tried for it, before people said u needed a 1:4 K so I was 7-20 and pissed off. I did that like 3 games without getting it, then someone came up with the 1:4 so i got it. Then when I was getting my knife badge I actually earned it. I got them both at 5-19 though.

lol, I din't have to wait long... I got it now at the beggining of a 64 man server it was like 7 on my side... I got 0wned :P

The best way to get it would probably be to try and combine it with winning another award. Try to get the knife or pistol award, 7 kills in a round. When you've either died 20 times or got 7 kills just either play normally until you get to a 1:4 ratio or suicide until you've got the right deaths.

Infact Im gonna do that now I havent got Knife or Pistol or Purple Heart

To get the medal you have to get the last kill to complete the 1:4 ratio AFTER you get the "4" part of it. And it's really not a noob's medal, although it is easier for them to get. I got it with a round score of around 80 with no more than 6 kills... The medal's intentions are good, but the requirements are bad.
