the a-10 is one sexy plane but it does not have a minigun. it has the big brother to the minigun, the avenger, earlier models carried the vulcan. its built around the vulcan or avenger.
the minigun is whats on the blackhawks. a minigun is 6 barreled, 7.62mm, 4000 rounds a minute firing wet dream but its nothing compared to the others. both having 6 barrels, the vulcan fires 20mm rounds at 6000rpm a minute while the avenger fires 30mm rounds at 4200rpm.

Yeah, what I was thinking! The Gau-8 is called a "rotary cannon" for a reason :p.

And I know the F-22 is a cool plane, but if it was in any way representative of how it fights in the real world, it will be just plain unbalanced. That plane is totally on another level as far as air combat goes. It's as stealthy as a F/A-117. It would be just plain unfair.

For what we're paying for em, they'd better be unfair :hmm: .

yeah, I have seen the cannon on an A-10 in real life....its freakin huge, and the rounds look as though they should be fired out of a tank cannon, not an airplane...

In the right hands (like mine) the Su-25 Frogfoot in DCF is the better plane. It can take some serious punishment, is more manoeuvrable and the cannon was arguably better due to the slightly hotter 'overheat' point...but yes the A-10 is still a cracking plane. I'd like to see both in Desert Conflict

im glad the a10 WASNT included. dont get me wrong, it is a good plane, but it attracted so many plane campers, all wanting a piece of the uber-plane-o-death pie.

i would welcome it more than i did in dc tho, the lack of any heat seeking missles in dc made this thing a total ***** to take down, but now at least it should be a good game of cat and mouse with its high firepower/slow speed against the tunguska.

I definitely think that including the F-35 in the game was a bad move. I mean, I don't care if the vehicles, weapons, or aircraft have to be tweaked for game balance reasons, but why they went with the F-35 and the F-15E together I will never understand. MEC and Chinese only have 2 aircraft each, and the USMC would of been just fine with the F-18 and F-15E. Then they go and place the F-18 on land runways when it's of course a navy plane....then they put the USMC version of the F-35 in there..which is good, cause the american side in bf2 IS the USMC. But they operate it off the carrier when the F-18 would of been a much better fit.

If they wanted a modern air force in the game, they coulda used the A-10, F-16, or even the harrier if they were that concerned with getting a VTOL aircraft in there. If they wanted the game to take place in the near future..well...replacing the F-15E with the F/A-22 would be only the first of numerous differences. They would of been smart to save the next generation of fighter aircraft for an expansion pack or bf3.

well, one of the fighters on the US carrier has to be an F-35. There's no room to place 2 non VTOL aircraft. It could be done, but i can already see people ramming into the helos and crashing.

The other one (at end of ship) could very well be an F-18, there's room to take it off.
