Its not about ranking, its about making paid-for content available for free.
Like porting the BF2 maps to BF2142, so nobody needs to buy BF2.

I saw the EA rule about this posted somewhere but cant locate them again.
But basically you are only allowed to use that from the vanilla game ( and your own stuff of course)

I you read the conflict "EULA" you will see that they actually require you to own all the games they use stuff from.

Modding Rules Clarification

There's been some confusion in the Battlefield modding community about what DICE allows when it comes to modifying our games. You'll all be glad to hear that the answer is fairly straight forward:

- You can only use use Battlefield 2142 content in Battlefield 2142 and the same applies for Battlefield 2. This includes maps, sounds, models and so on. So for example putting the Battlefield 2 map Zatar Wetlands into Battlefield 2142 would run counter to this rule. Recreating a map "inspired" by Zatar Wetlands in Battlefield 2142 would be fine as long as all the models, textures and terrain are new or use Battlefield 2142 assets.

- Booster and expansion content should stay within those confines. You cannot use content from booster or expansion packs in mods or custom maps. This includes game modes, models, maps. So for example you would not be allowed to create a standard Battlefield 2142 map with the Assault Lines game mode and the Hachimoto or a Battlefield 2 map with the Su-25.


Part of the reason for this is that the vehicles and game modes have only been tested in the game or booster they were designed for. We hope that clears things up and look forward to seeing more excellent maps and mods from the Battlefield modding community.

i can not wait to play with the jets, as the ice started to thawed out we found a bunker which had the best news for our men, that our jet fighter pilots could take to the air again and so being able to take back the territories we lost in battle. So if you want to join in the Conflict and fly high to victory then join the ROK side of CF2142.

and as for the EA stuff if it was illegal then they would of told us by now we have been going for over 6 months and just getting better every day.
