One question: Before the exploit was fixed, you could hover over the titan, let people spawn, 10 of them drop, and you get a pin, right?

If so, you could get pins so ridiculously fast, it wouldn't even be funny. If that was the existing mechanic, and he only got 20-some before it was fixed, meh. That's not exploiting.

Not that I really care, I have no dog in this fight, and frankly Eze's posts here are the ones that seem more emotional & less grown-up. But this b.s. has gotten really silly, and I need to know who to add to my ignore list if y'all don't STFU.

The way the exploit work was.....(I'm pretty sure i can say it since it has been fixed) If you were the pilot and hovered over the enemy titan and the passengers would start switching seats (f2,f3,f4, etc) The pilot would get ridiculous scores in the thousands. I saw someone's get a best round score of 16,000 thanks to that. The score would just climb like a stop watch and ever minute or so the pilot would get the drop off pin even if he got killed and was no longer in the transporter.

So the exploit was not as simple as hovering and dropping down, it really had nothing to do with even dropping ppl off.

IF you look at the leaderboards and go in the efficiency category, you will still see guys that exploited and have best round scores in the thousands

Right, I know that- But I think the thesis of the whole "discussion" was not that Eze did that (in fact, the best round score shows he didn't) but that getting transport pins could somehow be padding. So if you weren't doing the ridiculous points exploit, but were just legitimately hovering over the titan as a mobile spawn point, you'd get drop pins pretty quickly, right? Since the 500 meter rule hadn't been put in place yet? If so, to me that's legit since you are performing a legit function for the team. (Unlike the old ammo box on the titan guns thing, since that was not helping the team at all, and just racking up the points for the offender.)

Again, just curious on how the game mechanic worked back then.

I wouldn't consider it padding if someone hovered over the titan and got pins for it. Really hard to pad because your teamates have to die. It's not like the kill and revive pad in which you rack up the kills and the other guy gets the revives without really dying

I think the mechanism used to pick up on dropships in the right zone (above the deck o the titan) when seats were emptied (people jump ot). Unfortunalty i think it didnt know the difference between people jumping out and people just swapping seats so as 2 people rantically hit the F keys the points just rolled in. Im not totally sure of this but that seemd to be how it worked...

And best round score doesnt really reflect in itsself the events imo, as others did get pins without the outlandishly huge 8000points per round nonsense. some people only got 340odd or maybe less if they were a little subtle about getting a ew pins :)

Note to scinto. Im not {mEr}Psymn {mEr}Psymn1.1lol mate, im just someone totally unrelated with a similar penchant for phonetics and the same name honest.
O and why hasnt Ezekiel or Xland been banned :/, i got banned or being repettitive, Ezekiel is an obnoxious tool, and croslands threatening people with heart conditions :/

Wonder if your service provider would want to know about it?

The guys on teamspeak where I've been playing weren't even helping out- they make a point of using their SL's beacon. With a friendly squad, or if the defenders are being more careful about clearing beacons off their deck, you could do 15 drops in 5 minutes or less.

Thanks for your help, in any case! (That one night we were on opposite sides & you bailed, I was able to switch after the round, but you were gone! :p)

Next up- Titan attack, and aerial gunnery... :yay:

So now I need to recruit a good pilot who doesn't mind flying for his gunner for a few rounds...
BF2142 Crashed after that, big surpirise that it did though, lol.

Great thread, was actually pretty easy to get the troop transporter pin after reading this and of course with a little practice flying. Looks like it may be a bit harder in 1.4 if the pods from a transport just go straight down.

I appreciate all those who have thank'd me for the post, I thank ya'll for acknowledging my work. Above all it's a pin that has difficult conditions so once I figured it out it was only right to share it.

Got my transport pin last night which rounds out my collection. Was suprisingly easy once I knew about the range issue. Got it first attempt.

Yeah i think i got mine on my 2nd or 3rd try simply because the game went too fast. But when the teams got evened out I finally got it.

Tried to get this pin for the past month. Not easy when gunships, and even enemy transports are sitting waiting behind the titan, even when a gunship is always on your six. Then all bullets arriving in all directions from them, specially the enemy titan, I try to keep a level, because the AA on titan can go so low, and the ground guns on titan can go so high. I did all possibilities, even this one many times. The most I can get in a round is 4, but was lucky one game to get six. Then friendlies do not help when they just sit their in the seats not bailing, or no one entering the transport (empty) at all. I notice gravity is different when hovering above the titan. I am still working on the pin. Very, very fustrating.

What map where you on? I really recomend suez canal, thats where I have had the best luck, also remeber the altitude, when you above 350 on suez, the fog conceals you, do not fly through the center of the map either, fly on the outside of it. Good luck and let me know if I can help.
