Why does everyone hate on the voss

because people are too lazy or too inept to adapt to and overcome the Voss's strengths....

Voss's strenghts? To annihilate everything on its way? I played BF2, went back for one game yesterday and I could not believe how unbelievably cheap the Voss Lame-AR is. Point, click, click, kill. Any range, any target?! Sure, I'll try to overcome its stenghts. In a jeep.

All weapons in the game is point, click, click, kill. All of the AR's have it's strenghts and Voss most certainly isn't any better than the others.

And I totally agree to Micsters post, I notice I get much better Clarking when I've played assault for some time. :)

The Krylov is like the Voss for people who like to aim. The Voss is for the people who like to spray and don't like to attack targets more than 50 meters away without resorting to rockets or sniper rifles.

Or its for people who Know how to use it correctly and takes snipers down at 100m with it. Its also for people who understand how to tap shoot and not spray, these are the players it was made for. Those of us who dont spray are the ones you need worry about. Those of us who use all 40 rounds to kill a whole squad and not just one player, are the ones you need worry about.

I say take away half my rounds, if you want to nerf us. I will still dominate the field with it. I will go up against a whole team of Voss "noobs" with "my" Voss and come out the winner with some ammo left over. When I run out ammo, Ill grab your kit and kill you with your gun, until I find a Voss "noob" and take his to continue my spree.

Ok i think everyones getting sidetracked from my original point. Imo the Krylov is more of a nubtube than the voss, its accuracy is alot better and it only takes around 3-4 bullets to kill someone with its nearly non-existant recoil.

the krylov has slightly greater accuracy, but the voss's deviation increase per shot is lower.

meaning, the krylov is more accurate for the first shot, but will get less accurate faster, the voss is overall not as accurate, but will stay accurate for longer, and will get accurate again faster

As far as I can tell, the upcoming patch fixes one of the imbalances - Scar < Krylov.
Other than that I can not see how the Voss can be imbalanced since both teams have access to it.

The Krylov does most things the Voss does better, except that the Voss has 10 more rounds per clip. That makes quite a difference, because it gives you the nod up in hectic close quarter battles, and gives more room for missing. Both weapons will kill heavy armor in 5 torso shots, and both weapons shoot off 900 RPM. However, the Krylov's damage decreasing distance and its only minimal damage range are lower than the Voss's.

Oh, btw, Baur > *.

Also, most of the guys who bash the Voss (namely, raidyr and dutchdude) aren't too great at the game, so one shouldn't put too much weight on their perpetual Voss whining.

If that's how you feel about the Krylov, then you should try the Baur on single-shot. Its accuracy is at least as good as the Krylov, and even better at longer ranges. It can literally double as a medium range sniper rifle. It also has minimal recoil and can fire as fast as you tap with little deviation.
Add the PK and Herzog, and you're set for any distance and situation.

I wasn't so much attacking the Voss, as I was making a general statement. If no one whined/complained about anything, we would be playing a very horrible, very boring game right now, I assure you.

Been there done that. If you are going to be so stupid to assume I suck at the game, and therefore don't like ONE weapon in it, then fine. However, I should tell you you are wrong. I consider myself a fairly average player.

On topic now that we have gotten past the nonsense, the Krylov is fine. You are merely experiencing a placebo effect of sorts. Look at the stats on it. Then go look at the Voss stats. While the Voss retains much of the range of the Krylov, it also has higher rate of fire, larger magazine, and is an overall better gun in 9/10 situations.

I said this awhile ago, change the description of the Voss and it would be fine. It is not a light assault rifle, it does not sacrifice anything, and it is not solely used for close-quarters battles. It is as good as the Baur so called "Heavy assault rifle" is. Hell, look at the facts. Tons of people use it ingame, there is a Voss thread (either complaining about it, or complaining about the complaining) every week. Maybe you should look a bit further than "LOLOL U SUX0rz at teh g@mez!1"
