We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
About Updates: EA/Dice disappointing in communication
I just don't get dice anymore. you think after bf2 they would have start doing a better job.
It makes real hard to buy there next game. I love the feel of the battlefield game there is nothing out there that like it. EA is dices daddy now. We all know that the only thing ea cares about is are money and once they got it they no longer care. So they just make them move on to the next game to get more of are money.
and it's not that I really hate this game, in fact I enjoy it and play it regularly however I came to the realization (some time ago) that EA is happy simply to have the money and will provide support and feedback and updates to the community long enough to keep the game going and suck in as many gamers as they can before leaving us all high and dry while they move on to something new.
I know that 2142 was realeased for the Mac and I imagine that their console editon of the next battlefield game (forget the name but they get destructable enviroments) is getting most of the attention now in-house for marketing advertising etc. As far as DICE goes I don't understand why they can't say anything I mean even a little one sentence thing would be good. "Yes we are working on the patch, and we'll release it when it's done"
See not hard.
I have no idea what 1.4 was supposed to fix other than the explosive shotgun rounds were supposed to take out RDX and such and of course Highway Tampa map which we may never see outside of beta. Most of the time when I heard of 1.4 beta people were saying it was crashing all the time but I don't know the truth and imagine that the people that do are being told to keep quiet or they're fired/fined/whatever.
I say I don't care and that's true as far as EA goes, but I know I wouldn't feel that way if I had some news coming down the pipeline to me, I have enjoyed the BF series since 1942 and I look forward to playing the first strike mod for a month or so but when CoD comes around I'll be moving on from 2142 regardless of 1.4's status or promises from EA/DICE
I might be wrong but every single post made from every Dice member that had a patch info were deleted. I remember posts from them about spawn beacon, gunship, assault and support guns tweaks under current analysis and other 1.4+ stuff but I cannot find them anymore.
Watch the Battlecast Primetime Episode 1 for an example of what "community" really means. After looking at the forums and listening to the developers talk about the game and watching all the community material for C&C3, I'm really tempted to devote myself to that game.
When they introduced ModSDK in the Battlecast, I could just see all the posts I read about how EA / DICE still hasn't provided us with any good tool to mod BF2142. ModSDK is an absolutely astonishing mod tool for C&C3. And when they talk about the patches, you can really see the kind of effort they put into them. And they seem to have a really indepth knowledge of what players are unhappy with.
Granted, the team developing C&C has vastly more money to work with than DICE, but they've really made you feel like 1) you're actually making a difference in the game by voicing your opinions, 2) they like hearing from you, and 3) they want you to be as up to date as possible on what they are doing. Just look at their idea of an "Expansion Pack" and compare it with DICE's idea of an Expansion Pack. Their expansion pack includes almost as much content as BF2142 (as a modification of the BF2 engine).
"I dont know about anyone else but I was thinking today that i'd be happy to pay like £1-£2 a month to get some support on this game."
This is the problem - and no offense meant towards you when saying this... but THAT line of reasoning is why EA continues to do this to their games and people.
People keep on giving them another chance. With every new chance they are given, they see they can get away with more. You've ALREADY PAID for this game. Adding a subscription fee would just mean you would continue to pay... and nothing would change.
This problem should be dealt with exactly the same as a cheating girlfriend. Dump them on their cheating a$$. The more chances you give them, the more chances they'll take to show you just how gullible you are. For you younger guys out there, I'm not blaming or dissing you. It takes time to get jaded enough to see through shiz like this. Thats part of life. To you older gents out there - no excuse for letting this happen to you.
Along the same lines: maybe you should look at this game just like cheating girls. Have your fun with them. Don't get attached or get your hopes up. They will try and screw you in the end - and not in bed. Dump them before they get the chance.
I for one DL'ed the QWET demo and look forward to other games coming out as well. I'll come back to 2142 for ole' times sake, but I don't expect anything more out of it.
I don't think you can link to search results, since they have some sort of serial number in the link instead of the actual search criteria.
However a search on demize99 will give you more than 300 hits.

Good points.
But if EA really did stick with the community and support us with like a patch every 2 weeks, that is when I would be happy to pay £1-£2 a month.
If it was just the same as this now I would ditch the game.
And I am also looking foward to QWET, I hope everyone leaves 2142 for it.
Moving on here. Heck I just bought two of my all-time favorite games (again) off Amazon because the original disks are lost to history... Homeworld and Crimson Skies. I am totally psyched to be playing those this weekend.
Which SUCKS because I used to look forward to gaming with my bros for hours on end, Cerbere Landing, Camp G, Berlin, over and over again, trying to outdo eachother. I've had a ton of fun with this game but given the lack of anything coming from the developers my faith has waned to the point where I keep looking at the icon on my desktop and wondering if I'll even bother to play anymore.
This is the last EA/Dice game I am buying. This game is so great, but the lack of support from the developers part is just leaving me boiling with frustration sometimes!
