About Updates: EA/Dice disappointing in communication

Allow me to make this clear before starting: This post is not asking to get the patch released now. I just want info about the progress.

[Dice]Sentience replaced [Dice]CKMC over the "share info over the BF2142 community" role. Since then we have not seen any goddamn update about the patch.

The 1.4 patch was supposed to come end of July but now we are going through mid September and zero info about what the hell has been fixed/tweaked or what is the current delaying issue while sharing some info about the progress with at least a vague and unofficial ETA.

Is not so hard to share info and I believe it is very irresponsible and unprofessional to leave a community hanging with a shi.tty beta wondering what's next since June. Even the newbies are confusing it for a final patch thanks to EA's wonderful communication.

Splash Damage developers (Quake Wars) can teach Dice about communication. They hear and respond nearly on the very same day you ask and reply with straight answers or with tiny bits of hints when they can't share something.

I believe [Dice]Sentience just left us abandoned....maybe he forgot his role with the community or just don't care about it.

Like I said in another thread: [Dice]CKMC was the best by far with the community.

We need some updates because many are impatient, discouraged and moving to other games.

Hey, you never now what happened over there at DICE. Maybe CKMC retired and Sentience doesn't speak fluent English. You're telling me with all the money they're making, they couldn't hire a community representative to inform us on updates, patches etc?

      I dunno...

i have to agree i dont care when it gets released as long as they keep people updated with progress i will be more then happy.

as has been said quite a few games post regular news but ive never seen it done ever with the battle field series. it puts people off playing and gives the haters ammunition because it looks to everyone like a dead game.

"I no longer care because I will be moving to another game."

I'm already tired of 2142, though I don't think it's because of bugs/patch problems. Lack of content/reason to come back and play more. And no I didn't buy NS because it wasn't worth it to me.

Games like CoD1/2/BF2:SF keep me coming back for more, but 2142 doesn't for some reason .

BF2:SF was sweet...too bad that the newbs could not adapt to the nightvision.

I know I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again... Anyone who didn't expect this after BF2 has just got to be blind, deaf, and dumb.

Dice had a good start with BF2142 and they were caring....until its anniversary began to get close....

people lets not forget how the gaming industry works.
Ea/dice hires a team to create a game/engine and when there done they pick up there paycheck and leave.
the patch team has te litteraly reverce engineer the game in order to find out how it works and make patches for it

sure a bit more communication isnt bad, but this treat only seems to go about that in the poll

DICE uses there own engine, it is not bought or outsourced.
Besides even if all you said were true, it would be no excuse for the lack of communication, which btw. has been a problem the whole time.

Looking at the link to http://forum.eagames.co.uk/search.ph...EAUK_Sentience we can see that their new spokesperson hasnt been active on their own forum for two months.
                        Thats nice.

                          "I no longer care..."

I'm playing mods with BF2142 and a some occasional light pubbing. I'm playing Enemy Territory right now and will be living CoD4 when released in a couple of months.

I absolutely loved 2142, but agree that DICE EA's commitment to community has me baffled. They've got fanboys like me lined-up to promote and support them, but they seem to be very unresponsive to all of our requests.

As far as im concerned Valve have the best communication with their customers.

EA dropped the ball, we bought the game and are clinging on for updates/content.
