I think they look pretty polished. Shadows are nifty and vary with brightness, and are very crisp as well. Glows kills my computer so no comment. The textures are detailed and IMO give things a realistic feel. Specular map is odd... everything just has a white outline it seems. I guess I can see the no rounding thing... better than 2142, though!

All in all it's very real looking. The only things on my settings that sets it apart from watching an interactive movie are lack of bloom (raeps my PC) and anti-aliasing, which I don't have very high, so railings are pixelated. With a better GPU that can be fixed though.

WixrdWarts, ambient smoke looks quite 3d, but interactive things like RPG smoke trails seem like a bunch of 2d pictures rotated a few times, if you get what I mean.

Thats exactly what I mean, im running at pretty high settings, and even though it looks pretty it still feels like a ****load of 2d pictures layering each other

I believe that the 2D explosions was mentioned in several reviews, so your settings wont affect it.
Personally I find the game so immersing that I have never noticed any bad graphics.

It's essentially a CoD2 mod. Feels exactly the same. Weapons shoot the same, just have a different skin. Single player is the same scripted, unrealistic BS as always. Basically, the only thing that could save this game are the perks in multiplayer... which might actually be fun. But at best, it's just an enhancement to CoD2's multiplayer... with a modern look. And CoD2 got boring after a while because at the end of the day... you're just a guy with regular guns that cant do anything special.

Now... UT3.... that game is fun Hoverboards ftw.

COD1 and COD2 were great games, this is just them but in a prettier new setting so it's going to be AWESOME, especially with all the lil extra bits like perk and nightvision.

                The whole UT franchise fails.

I'd be glad if it was the same as CoD2 with new weapons, because what I've played of it owns.

And please, go to war with your lazor gun and run around as a super soldier, I'll go get your coffin pre-ordered. Having "noob" inscribed adds on some time to the order.

So are the maps still CoD2 size, or will they have bigger, maybe equivalent to 32 size maps in BF. I felt that there wasn't enough space to maneuver/flank/whatever in the small CoD2 maps, which really took away from the teamwork, basically just run around, shoot, jump, and throw nades.

Some say they'll be the same, some say they'll be larger.

All we know for sure is: Be prepared to homemade maps that are very large.

I, for one, will probably try adding on to the original maps to be larger in size if the editor is friendly enough.

Please, Infinity Ward, make larger map if you're going to support anything over 24-32 players! I want the "sandbox" gameplay like Battlefield, except w/o flags and no huge walks from spawns to action, basically, have easy access to the action, but give people space to maneuver.

I just downloaded the Demo and i am bummed. I am use to running my games on high details but the most i can set stuff on COD4 is MEDIUM. My rig is officially outdated. What a bummer, lol. The FPS are real low even on medium.

                        I am running with:
                        2 Gigs G Skill RAM
                        3700+ AMD SD Core
                        XFX 7800GT
                        MSI K8N Neo4Platinum MOBO

Running SP will give low FPS, but for multiplayer they will be higher, running all those NPCs kills the CPU.

Is my demo messed up or is there really only 1 extremely short level? Anyway - as always the weapons don't really feel right in COD, and it quickly got redundant for me. I was impressed with COD 1, but after that their games have disappointed me. In addition the game seems mainly composed of spray n pray. Everything is just full auto everywhere. Maybe because of the lack of recoil. I can see how some people may like that but it's not really my taste.

The AI pisses me off too. They are either too retarded to even know you are in front of their face, or they have a 6th sense of knowing your exact location. Theres no middle-ground.

I also hate how its like 10 Americans vs. hundreds of enemies. They don't stop spawning until you complete your objective, it sucks. How are you supposed to play realistically if you can't take out the enemy from a distance THEN move in? They just spawn forever till you move up, forcing you to put yourself in a dangerous position. It's irritating. You are expected to do everything for your "team".

Decent game though, just can't say I personally like it much, probably because I'm too used to Project Reality. I had the most 'fun' playing it through with the 92FS.

                              </cynical>

Way to respect someones opinion. If the UT franchise fails, then why the hell is it just so damn popular? I'm not a fan of it either - but that CLEARLY does not mean it, "fails," or people are noobs just because they like it. Grow up.

Oh, sorry solodude, I'll be sure to grow up to 17, not like 4 months is hard...

BTW, the recoil goes up in multiplayer, and you're not supposed to kill them all but rather lay down a bit of cover fire then go into the building, go down into the courtyard to have the enemies spawn on the overpass rather than staying up in the second floor, defending the tank does have a set limit of enemies, and last but not least, plant the beacon right away. The guy even says they've got it buttoned up, which, in case you hadn't noticed, meant there's too many for them because they are just 10 guys as you pointed out. And for middle ground, it's called either of the two middle difficulty levels.
