How much players is going to be COD 4? I hope it will not be 12-16 players MAX. That will be utter ******** due to crapbox that keeps nerfing games on PC. If its 16 players max due to X360 limits i will develop a virus for X360 to power surge it.

          read this:

Devil Dogs Testing CoD4:MW on PC
          Source: fourzerotwo.com Blog

I've spoke about Kleenex testing in the past, but for those of you unfamiliar, Kleenex testing is essentially when we pull just a random gamer from the community / street / local game shop / forums, invite them to the IW Studio for several days, and allow them to play through the entire single player (and sometimes multiplayer) of the game. We do this throughout development.

Why do we do this? Well, It's really a great asset when your developing the game as it allows you an honest, unbiased, outside perspective on the game. We're not looking so much for bugs and glitches, that's what the QA (testers) do, this is more for feedback on the gameplay and fluidity of the game.

We have a camera set up in the room that records their reactions, as well a direct feed of what they see on the screen to two TV's in the designer's department. This allows us to sit around, watch how they react to certain moments in the game, if they get lost or confused at sections of the story, don't notice Voice over that tells them what to do, and get an overall gauge of how the game plays for you guys with a non-developer eye.

Throughout the process we sit down with the player to gather feedback, found out what they thought of certain aspects of the game, and hear anything else they have to say on how we can improve the game.

For a while now, almost daily we've been bringing in guys to test on the PC version of the game, recently bringing in a handful of US Marines to get their time testing out the PC version on Minimum Specs. For you PC guys, you know this is great news, as we're gaining momentum on zeroing in on some official min specs for the final release.

In addition to the extensive kleenex testing we've been doing on the PC side, we've been heavily testing the multiplayer portion of PC around the office. We had a massive game going (about 64 players) on one of the smallest maps we had. It was insane. I admit, that one was just to see what happened, but we also loaded up some mods to test out some of the mod support functionality, PunkBuster support, and other PC specific features.

In closing, next week we have some hardcore COD2 PC guys coming by from the Shock'N'Awe clan / servers to wreck havoc on the PC version of the game and help us kleenex. Lots of PC focused stuff happening right now around the studio. I'll keep you guys posted.

Am I the only one who hated CoD 2 with anymore than 24 people? Played on a 50 person server, just bleh, spent more time respawning than playing. (10 sec respawn for CTF)

I hate a lot of people on small maps, it turns into a nade fest where you throw all your nades the second you spawn, die, rinse, and repeat.

                    FFS.

First it's mainly console based production.

Then min. requirements rape my PC and leave it crying about how it's pathetic and barely good enough for life, why don't I just fry it now, etc..

Then it ends up being mainly console based in development meaning any idiot who read his precious XBox magazine to read that Halo 3 got 11/10 will hear about CoD4 and play, then ***** and moan about how it sucks compared to Halo.

Then it's not even available for the Wii.

Then It's not coming out until November.

Then we still haven't gotten a demo! XBox got a beta, give us some love too!

But I'm still buying it the day it's released... >_>

We still have 30 days 11 hours 23 min 53 sec(when i wrote this) to CoD 4 release. That is according to http://callofduty.totalgamingnetwork.com/

Usually those demos are released 1-2 weeks before the release. I have a feeling that Infinity Ward/Activision ain't no different when it comes to releasing a demo.

I hate the fact crapbox gets threated better then PC when PC is the best FPS platform to play one. I hope that crapbox fails misarably so we can get real FPS again not Craplo 3 which when I tried it, It made my eyes bleed, campain is annoying, mutliplayers is retarded.

Because they released a beta for the Xbox 360? And not the PC? Do you know how long it takes to make a deal with Fileplanet regarding hosting a beta for any game? Like we need the headache of Fileplanet
                            betas*coughsubscriber,anyone?cough*

They promised they'd release a PC demo and they will. Patience, lad :p

They still ruined all FPS market with their crapbox. And they are gradually ruining ALL GAMING MARKET!
