When did hacking come into this? Or are ya referring to the other thread that someone said someone from RIP hacked?

noted...but just cuz it was in the server, doesnt mean It was a Member. I personally can beat Saaw users 99% of the time. You can ask Oldman Airhole who is currently 6th or 7th with it. He always asks how I get away

The SAAW is not fixed DICE - it's very broken.

It's mindless, takes absolutely no skill or effort to use, and all but guarantees free points for any zombie with the desire to stand, point in general direction, and click twice.

Why is it that a gunship must work for its ground-kills yet everything anti-gunship is spammable and tracks?

        1. Unlimited spammable Titan AA gun. Click, hold left mouse button ad infinitum - no overheat.

        2. AA Emplacements. Spammable with unlimited ammo and tracking EMPs. Again, point in general direction, right click twice. Skillfull that.

        3. SAAW. Can be fired in bursts of two @ 50% dmg each, can track upwards of 700 meters high and halfway across Titan Suez. Tracking of course...god forbid that anyone would have to learn to aim in the future

F*ck the SAAW and the skillless panzies that use it. Good on the admin for standing up to the bullsh*t.

P.S. Drink less hot chocolate DICE - its getting to yer brains.

That has to be the most pathetic whine I have seen yet
So every AA weapon is overpowered?
And yet a certain Immunity has almost 10k kills with the gunship, but 88 deaths to the SAAW and 50 to the Titan AA.
Yes, those things sure need a nerf!

            1. Titan AA has absolutely no presence below the roof of the titan. You want to avoid it all you have to do is fly slightly lower then the titan or out of sight of the enemy titan, which is NOT asking much. You want to complain about Titan guns you should be complaining about the ones on the other side, ESPECIALLY on the map you chose in #3. Besides this, if you don't want to deal with Titan AA you have a few conquest maps to choose from that also have a nice environment for Gunships.

            2. The EMP missiles have had their range nerfed and their effect on gunships nerfed. EMP does not do damage, and you need to be either flying in a predictable path or very close to the AA turret to be hit by the projectiles that do damage.

            3. Your exaggerating the range quite a bit, and your also using a pretty clustered titan map as an example. Also, it gives you a lock on tone, can be outmaneuvered by a fast acting pilot, and it is blocked by active defense.

You want to have a defense against SAAW users, bring a halfway decent gunner. You should almost always survive the first salvo, and by then your gunner should make short work of the guy firing off the bright blue balls of plasma with an unmistakable trail.

This isn't even getting into how many people don't even have the SAAW unlocked, how few would actually choose it over the Pilum or defaults, and how your survivability as an Engineer is affected by carrying a portable AA weapon instead of a portable AV weapon.

Believe it or not, SAAW is very, very weak against good experienced joystick-using gunship pilots who know how to "screw" the tracking of the missiles without relying in hiding behind objects to lose the lock-on.

I believe that Demize99 told that it was going to be fixed in 1.4 so I expect more anti-SAAW whiners and of course, more insults from x=FAST=x

Try to improve your skills as a ground pounder and then complain...flown by a good pilot with a good gunerthe gunship is, on most ocasions, the deadliest weapon on the battlefiled.

Remeber SAAW is only usefull against air targets, an engie with that weapon is almost helpless against another threats on the battlefield, if they nerfed the saaw no one would choose it.

                  Immunity, tbh you're an idiot

I have whored the Gunship a lot, the AA is finally effective, anyone can fly around in the gunship and do fairly well but expert pilots are still rewarded for their skill

If you havent learnt ways around the countermeasures then you are either to lazy or lacking in brainpower or simply like the BF2 style of anything in the air rapes everything on the floor

Isn't Suez one of the easiet maps to avoid SAAW missiles and on titan mode doesn't it have very few AA guns? Anyways as I stated before if I notice someone is actually flying around in the gunship shooting targets I will get my SAAW to help the team counter it. However when it's a good pilot I can rarely if ever shoot them down because they know how to avoid the locks or outrun the missiles. I just keep my eye out for em and switch back to my Pilum while they continue to destroy any vehicle or person not under cover. A good gunship pilot is nearly unstoppable and you just got to hope someone on your team is just as good or better.

Absolutely on point with that comment alone. I think DICE realized they COMPLETELY botched the air in BF2 and have attempted to make the right balance to keep the air from being overpowered in this version.

Yes. There are only 3 AA emplacements on Suez Titan. Do you really wonder why it is a pilot's choice of map? How tough is it to avoid both Mains and Silo 4? Makes me laugh why I see so few gunship whores on maps like Sidi.

So true plus add no movable titans to ensure maximum safety against titan pods n' guns.

64 players conquest maps are even worse for gunship pilots.
