So I was playing on the WnX server last night....

So I was playing on the WnX server with my teammates last night and as we were half way through Cerbere Landing, some people started complaining about a player on the opposite team. Since there were a lot of people from our clan online we were lucky enough to have enough people on both teams in order to get a good look of that guy.

The major complaint was that you just couldn't kill him!!! My clan mates were saying that not even 2 clips of Voss bullets would do the job. So I started tracking down this guy to see if that was true...



Pic 1,2: Notice two things...

- Even though he's in our team his name doesn't appear (not even on the leaderboard) . As a matter a fact when you get killed from him nothing comes up on the in-game text.

- He's NOT carrying a weapon and he's not wearing a helmet!



On the next round I happened to play against him. So once more I tried to track him down.




Pic 3: Again notice he's not carrying any weapon. I took this screenshot after I was done reloading since my first clip of Krylov bullets didn't do any damage. After I finished my second clip he killed me.

Eventually admins managed to kick him out of the server since among other things he would play as commander and throw orbital strikes one right after the other (something like 2 secs between consecutive strikes).

Someone started a thread a week ago about the increase of hackers and I guess this certainly proves it.

I wouldn't say one blatantly obvious cheater proves there's an outbreak of cheating, but at least admins were on and finally able to get rid of him. Too bad you don't know his name or info, I'd love to preemptively ban him from our servers as well.

He's already been reported to EA and I think that WnX is also doing the same thing as well. It's good to know though that he's been banned from your servers as well

Oh man... This is the first time i see something like this...

But about this hacker outbreak.

Since i got different timelines than ppl in USA(for example). I don't play at the same time, but today i decided that i could take one all nighter. So the first server that i join(Fall of Berlin). I notice that there is one dude glitching(i think there was other ppl glitching too). I think that it doesn't matter since he is in roadblock and the fight is at crossroads(i still voted yes). New round starts, the same glitcher goes as our commander. I don't think about it that much, but then all h3ll breaks loose. He arties every 10 sec something, and enemy arties us every 10 sec. It was just terrible, then top of all i started to get some weird graphical corruption, so i had to quit(thank God).

So i think that there definetly is somekind of hacker outburst, i just haven't played with them at the same time...

~1400 hours of BF2 and ~400 hours of 2142 and only once have i suspected someone of using a cheat. I only play on PB enabled servers.

There is a very easy way to drop orbital strikes very quickly that does not require any type of 3rd party cheat/hack running in addition to the game. I'm not going to say how to do it here (don't want copycats) but it's so simple it should get patched out of the game.

Do you actually use this "exploit"? Or once you found out about it did you stop?

Maybe you either play at the wrong time or you look from the wrong places.

And the pace of those orbitals was so fast that i bet it was some 3rd party program.

i'm Controling the server now for a lot of months, but never saw people running aound without even being there..

I've been noticing people running around without a helmet a number of times already in the last couple of weeks but I'd always thought it was a graphical glitch.

Is it true that if they're running and gunning without a helmet on they're most likely hacking?

ive seen the no nametag hack before on a bloke named "athletico-bilbao" or something like that. i knifed him after i switched teams and next round he kept tking me as i informed the rest of server he had nametag hack.

cheers for posting this up anyhow. i expect you will get moaned at for posting this sort of thing up but sod em. is there any other way to track the person if his name isnt appearing?
