oh lordy.... i see the damned reg tag glitch OFTEN.

i'd say an honest 10% of my tk's are purposely killing a player with a red tag, only to find out he was a teammate. if you think about it, that's a high number.

my one and only official admin kick from a server was due to my tk'ing an admin twice. he was in my squad, and all of a sudden around a wall there would be this red dude. shoot, kill, tk. whoops.

i've only seen this on conquest btw.

So I was playing on the WnX server with my teammates last night and as we were half way through Cerbere Landing, some people started complaining about a player on the opposite team. Since there were a lot of people from our clan online we were lucky enough to have enough people on both teams in order to get a good look of that guy.

The major complaint was that you just couldn't kill him!!! My clan mates were saying that not even 2 clips of Voss bullets would do the job. So I started tracking down this guy to see if that was true...

Pic 1,2: Notice two things...

- Even though he's in our team his name doesn't appear (not even on the leaderboard) . As a matter a fact when you get killed from him nothing comes up on the in-game text.

- He's NOT carrying a weapon and he's not wearing a helmet!



On the next round I happened to play against him. So once more I tried to track him down.



Pic 3: Again notice he's not carrying any weapon. I took this screenshot after I was done reloading since my first clip of Krylov bullets didn't do any damage. After I finished my second clip he killed me.

Eventually admins managed to kick him out of the server since among other things he would play as commander and throw orbital strikes one right after the other (something like 2 secs between consecutive strikes).

Someone started a thread a week ago about the increase of hackers and I guess this certainly proves it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there a setting where someone can join a game and be an observer (and not fight)? I think it was added in the 1.25 patch beta. If I am correct, that could explain why that guy had no weapons.

Problem with that theory is the OP mentioned how the guy in question killed him.

Also, I don't think observers actually show in the game world as anything, do they? I was under the impression if you were an observer, you were just a little invisible camera floating around watching the action.

I'm pretty sure the observer mode is only in unranked games as well. As for that guy, that's about as obvious as a hack can get.

i very much doubt you can run around as an actual person as an "observer". that would screw up the game play, with people wasting their time killing a ghost.

there is the "death cam" which servers can allow to be moved, or not. you can also cycle to teammates 3rd person view once you die. a great way to check for hackers/exploiters... as you can see the 3rd person view of what they're doing.

once you die, don't select a spawn point (click away from spawn points on the map) then, easiest to hit "x" on the map to keep it away for good. keep hitting "C" and cycle through until you have the view of the intended player. now, you can watch what they're doing.

That is for unranked servers only and I don't believe there would be an actual person running around. Rather you would most likely be able to move the camera around to watch the battlefield or perhaps watch only one team of players.

yeah, i believe its called the "free cam". it can be enabled at the start of rounds by the admins. you pretty much can just zoom around like an invisable flying camera. most servers have this disabled at the start of rounds.

perhaps there is a setting to be an observer with this, i really don't know.

the "death cam" is the one where you follow the individual teammate. you gotta die once for that though.

Yep I've seen this on my clan's server, took us a while to ban him too

That was a weird round because we had a nametagging aimbotter in there aswell

Oh and guess what, they all appeared after I knifed the effu guy that had joined the server
