whats the big deal with commanders at the moment there seems to be a trend of just refusing supplies ;uavs etc for gods sake if a squad needs help - help em...for example my squad had held on to a silo for the whole round I ask for a suplly crate 'negative' ask again 'negative'-I automatically check to see the commander asset status by pressing T when requesting assets it just does my head in what is the commander saving the bloody crates for?Ive caught alot of commanders lying about it aswell if they refuse a crate Ill ask them why over voip - 'oh its almost ready yeah whatever' I dont think they realise you can check the status

There is a bug where Supplies always show available to a SL even when they're not.
I remember finding this out in a comp match. I checked the status and asked our CO for supplies and he said they weren't available. No reason for him to lie, we're old friends and playing to win. Then, I checked periodically throughout the match even after they had just been dropped and the status bar always showed full.
Not to say that they shouldn't have still helped you, but the bar doesn't always tell the truth. -
In the end, people are fighting over the commander spot solely because of the 2x point bonus for the team winning regardless of the commanders help. You get mutiny votes constantly by those desperate for points. I get a bit bored playing commander coz you just sit there waiting for supplies to respawn and constantly spotting everything. However I have noticed on occasion that the 2x bonus is a lie. A fair few times it seems more like 1.25x or 1.5x.Comment

The 2x is only 2x your commander score. So if in a round you already have 10 points then become commander and get a commander score of 20 giving you a round score of 30. After wining your total will be 50 ((2 x 20) + 10) not 60 (2 x 30).In the end, people are fighting over the commander spot solely because of the 2x point bonus for the team winning regardless of the commanders help. I realise someone else might need the assets but when there are no other squads or lonewolf squads with one etc and the commanders supply asset is lit it starts to grate a little;especially when your squad has defended a bloody silo for nearly the whole round:shakehead:and you have to ask them three or four times and over voip to get a crate
I not so sure about that mate but I may be wrong Ive clicked the commander button when there hasnt been anyone commanding at the end of a round that my team is just about to win and it doubles your points Im sure of it..Originally posted by RMcLeodThe 2x is only 2x your commander score. No, he is correct. If you have 20 points, and become commander, and win, those 20 will NOT be doubled. Only commander points are, and they are only earned while you are commander.I not so sure about that mate but I may be wrong Ive clicked the commander button when there hasnt been anyone commanding at the end of a round that my team is just about to win and it doubles your points Im sure of it..Comment

I don't recall ever having enough "free" time as a commander to get bored; it really is a fulltime job so I don't know how you have been playing commander.Comment

If someone asks for supplies and the commander says yes when they are not recharged the message is NO Denied. Thats been said. I have had many a mutiny because of it. The trouble is now with so many multi lingual servers if you type an explanation not everyone understands.Comment

True enough, though personally I get great pleasure on spotting the squad trying to sneak by my team, or destroying a walker with 2 clicks.Comment

Commanding certainly isn't boring, its a team position that requires full dedication the entire round, more than just the occasional UAV and orbit, you should be constantly watching for anyone attempting to sneak past the front line and communicating with your squad leaders.
Perhaps a meatgrinder round on Camp Gibraltar or Minsk might dispute this, but otherwise you have a busy job.Comment

yeah but everyone is entitled to their own opinion - I find the job boring so I dont do it - dont suggest Im not doing the job right ;its like sitting on the titan guns for the whole round is boring so I dont do it each to their own lad, yeah?compared to combat it's is boring but if you like it then fine ...Comment
