i have to say i like the clark better altho i used to ganz whore as my stats will tell you since i unlocked it first then proceeded to get other items rather than finish the clark tree but i prefer it when i go support unless its a huge map in which ganz is more helpful to snipe with =P

If you're in a position to unlock either, why not just give them both a thorough day or few or testing via field unlocks? I've tested every unlock for a while before getting it, and as a result am very satisfied with the choices I've made.
I mean, as long as you play in a decent squad you can't really help but get field upgrades quickly.Comment

I think the point was that he had 4 unused unlocks and nothing unlocked in support, so he wanted to use them all at once.
And as you know you can only Field Upgrade one level.

As many have said, it depends totally on your playstyle. If you're John Rambo get the clark and start charging, if you like to hang back get the Ganz. Neither is really better, it all depends on style and situation. I have played about 60 hours as support class and I find I switch between the two depending on what I am doing. If I am on camp G and I know its about just getting into position and scoring kills I will set up somewhere with my Sentry Gun, Ganz, and UAV and just start racking up kills, as once it's centered in the Ganz is like a high damage laser beam (great for taking out guys clumped together around a supply or heal crate). However if I am on titan I def equip the Clark, as you can run and gun really accurately, and its great for both attack and defense (although recently I have found recon to be the ultimate titan defense kit with APM and RDX)
You should do what the guy above said with a little change. Play your favorite map and game style (conq or titan) twice in a row. First use only the herzog, second use only a stock LMG. Whichever feels better get the approriate unlock. Just know that the Clark has more ammo but a slower ROF (still decenlty fast though, can't imagine how brutal it will be after 1.40) and the Ganz is not meant for close range, its damage is higher but it really MUST be fired crouched or prone, and from enough of a distance that the enemies ROF on his weapon isn't an issue (IE close quarters a voss or lambert is going to own you no matter how long you have been prone and sighted in).Comment

Ganz:
Great for holding positions and providing supporting fire for your teammates. Also good for mowing down enemies running at you from a suitable distance. Not for Running and Gunning.
Clark:
Need to get up and close to be effective. One or two shots close up is a kill if done right. Best used with Knowledge of whereabouts of the enemy. Not for long range action.Comment

go for the clark first, just because it offers a different playing style and can be v useful in close quarters
then again for suppression as support i'd never equip anything but the ganzComment

Just get the Clark, it gives a real difference to Support and is fun to use.
There's really nothing a Ganz can do that an LMG can't do, the Ganz just might be a bit better at times, sometimes a bit worse.Comment

Personally, its the ganz for me, as it is a good HMG now.
