This is a fair point, but bear in mind that many games that're specifically designed for consoles just aren't as fun on the PC, feeling a bit too arcadish and basic when controlled using an ultra-tactile mouse (Lost Planet is an excellent example of this).
Chances are, Bad Company just isn't as fun on the PC and DICE would prefer their next Battlefield game on the format to be one properly designed for it.
Of course, the factor of the console audience by far being the most lucrative is also significant. It'd serve DICE well to tap into it and get Battlefield more well known there, rather than just being seen as a port from the PC like it has been in the past.
I'm sure the next PC Battlefield will be excellent. :)
