The Ganz will definitely mow through that soft cover.

In BF2 you were able to penatrate corrugated iron fences/panels with certian weapons, to my knowledge you cant shoot through anything in 2142.

I can't be 100% sure on that but I think the Ganz shots go through the iron panels in Camp G. Those panels are located around the maps when you climb up the ladder. Most of it is the fence/railing so no cover but there are few spots where an iron panel is covering you. I usually shoot in the crack between the floor and panel but I think the Ganz can go right through that little cover.

I have this guide (got it with the game as some promo) and I can tell you the Ganz does no such thing. That line is from the weapon description, where they have a fictional blurb as if the thing was real. As far as the game is concerned if you are behind any object that would have a hitbox (basically anything other then a bush or med/ammo hub) then you will be safe.

And for the person who asked what it's useful for, I agree that its no where near as necessary as a zelda or FF guide if you want to get everything, but for people who don't know/dont care about sites like this, its useful for all the rank and award info, as well as descriptions on classes and vehicles so you can at least have some idea of what is going on once you start the game.

Pretty sure it means the meshing/chainlink fences, and has a better chance of firing successfully through them, instead of deviating.
