Well, I used WinRar, searched my entire 2142 folder and every folder in it and didn't find the file.
Also, I reinstalled it again, applied the patch, and it still froze even in singleplayer, reinstalled it without patching and i can get in singleplayer games now. If only there were original patch servers like with Battlefield 2.
Any idea if there'll be a new patch available anytime soon?
Edit: Forgot to mention I'm running on VistaComment

Follow these directions (not mine, I found them on a website when I was looking to see how to find hidden files for my Vista computer).Originally posted by 90068Well, I used WinRar, searched my entire 2142 folder and every folder in it and didn't find the file.

1. Click the round blue Start thing in the left corner
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Folder Options
4. Click the View tab
5. Click Show hidden files and folders
6. If you want to see system files as well, unclick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
7. Click OK.
Show the protected operating system files.
Now....and I'm not on my home computer right now, so I can't remember exactly, but when y ou go into your Battlefield 2142 file, there will be a tab at the top of that folder that says something like "Compatability files." Open that. The cdb file will be in that folder. Change it to oradial.cdb and your problems should be solved.
Let me know what happens.Comment

I've done all that to try and find it,
ive also tried using winrar, but i dont seem to have it installed on my computer 0.0
what should we do then?Comment

Everyone actually has that file, even though many fail to realise it...
You must go into the folder options thingy to actually see it. WinRAR doesn't always work.
I made a sticky about this on my clans forum, it's with images if you don't understand: http://unitedterrorclan.freeforums.o...topic.php?t=12Comment

1.40 is a beta for a reason. It may well crash your system.
On another note, glad someone finally fixed this eff'ing problem. Its annoying that after every 15 total hours of gameplay I had the problem with the map stopping after loading appx 60%. I would just reinstall the game and NS, which was a pita. Thanks for the tip. 5 Stars

Yeah I'm having he same problem, but on my MAC.
Yeah, yeah go ahead and sneer... Actually I have the game loaded on my PC as well, problem is, my wife prefers to use the PC and I the Mac.
Any way, was there ever a fix found for the map bug on the macs? the radial.cab file is not on here so if there is an alternate file I would appreciate someone letting me know.
ThanksComment

wow will DICE ever fix this bug? not everyone knows to find the solution in some forums. DICE needs to acknowledge this bug and tell people how to resolve it until they find a fix on their end. i've been deleting this file more after 1.40 patch and it's damn annoying.
all this freezing non-sense because of the game's stupid in-game advertising crap? funny, they can't even program a proper in-game advertising system, it has to be buggy just like the actual game...Comment

Ehh.
First off, I would like to say thanks for providing this fix. It really works. :P
However, a week later, radial.cdb popped up again, along with oradial.cdb right next to it, and now the loading-half-way bug is back again. It's safe to delete radial.cdb right? Or rename that as well?Comment

Well i had the same problem, load froze up, was advised to delete radial.cdb, unchecked "hide protected.." and checked "show hidden..."
And I still couldn't find or locate that file. Sooo I tried this:
Download .: MGRC :. Radial.cdb Cleaner for free. A few games are creating a file radial.cdb when you play it. But when this file gets to big the game crashes.
Now the only problem is I'm getting the modded content erro.
So wtf?? Any suggestions?Comment
