It looks like GamerJam is looking into Shoutcasting and putting up live coverage of the finals. Thanks to Wolfservers for this one.

Having titan movement on makes titan so much more fun, makes it more of a full match. Being able to move your titan into strategic positions can help decide the victor of the battle, as in planting your titan in the middle gives (depending on the map) coverage of every silo with the titan guns.Comment

wow a titan tournament without titan movement?
c'mon you might as well make it conquest with alot of vehicles. They call it titan because of the big thing in the air and its use. thats what makes it unique. otherwise your just running a cq tournament with silos instead of flags.
i intended for my clan to be involved in more tournaments. but if titan movement is off my clan wont be joining up. Good luck with it though.Comment

Mmmmk guys, we changed things up a bit. The new rules will be posted soon! Titan movement is back on!!
In order to get a working tournament, the clans must show sportsmanship. We expect teams to obey rules, but also to show flexibility and understanding when problems emerge. The rules can be changed by tournament Admins at any time. The changes will be communicated to tournament participants after they will become effective. Not knowing the tournament rules is never a valid excuse for not following them.
Type of Gameplay: Titan
Unlocks: Yes
Vehicles: Yes
Number of Maps: 1
Number of Teams: 2
Members per Team: 12 (10 Minimum)
Time Limit: None
Friendly Fire: YesTitan Movement: On
Friendly Fire Mines: Yes

All players must be signed up via the Shakedown Street sign-up site. If you have players that aren't signed up and those players play in the tournament the game is forfeited to the opposing clan by default.
PunkBuster will run on each server and ALL matches must be played on the servers provided, no match may be played on a private server.
All teams will be required to join and use the provided Teamspeak server on the day(s) of the tournament. Only the team leader is required to be logged on to Teamspeak at any given point. This must be done so that Tournament Staff can communicate with each team. However Voice over IP is allowed. Your team must show up early and must get registered on Teamspeak before the matches begin.
All matches will start after both teams leaders have said "live" in global game chat.
All software and settings considered cheating are forbidden. No cheats or hacks of any kind are to be used. Contestants will be disqualified if they are caught using any cheat or 3rd party "helper" applications.
Taking advantage of known exploits in the game is also considered cheating. Exploits in the game could include, without limitation, bugs that allow you to hide under obstacles or objects in the game to gain invulnerability. If a Tournament staff member finds that you are cheating, you will be disqualified immediately from the Tournament with no recourse for yourself.
If a player switches sides before the round has ended, the opponent team will be given a forfeit victory on the round. This rule does not apply to player rejoining the game after disconnection. Screenshot must be taken from this offence, and must be sent to the game administrators after the game.
The winning team should take a screenshot of the final result after every round and post it in the forum accordingly. If your team does not take a screenshot of the win, credit can not be given to the winning team immediately.
The Tournament rules are subject to change at any time. If any changes to the rules occur, you will be notified through the Tournament News page and a Tournament forum post; a time stamp will be on any web pages that have been revised.Comment

Do you guys have servers setup on east, west coast as well in central?
my concern is that the server provided may favor one clans ping, as to the other's not. this would give an advantage on low ping said clan.
do you have a ping rule? [ if majority from one team pings differ on average of over 50ms, another server would be provided]
are you prepared for this?
thanks for any speedy answerComment

We are working on this part of the rules as we speek. We need to consult our server provider before we respond. Our provider (Wolfservers) has servers all over the US. Sorry for the delay but we do not want to give you false information at this time. We do appreciate all of the comments guys because we want to put something together that everyone will be happy with. We do know that this will be impossible and will have to stand our ground at some point. The whole reason for posting this was to get some feedback from the BF2142 communtiy and we have achieved that.Do you guys have servers setup on east, west coast as well in central?

actually in 12v12 you cant afford to stick someone on the guns, maybe your commander, when he has time but thats all. besides, a cordinated team with pilums, and ginship = no titan guns. i play in 12v12 titan play and rarely ever seen someone do this. if someone does they're asking for a loss.
with only 12 men on the side it takes abit more of strategy. you cant afford the noob stuff [titan gunns] that 1 man can make a difference on a certain squad moving on a silo. titan gun are too easily taken out even with an engineer. besides by the time a titan gets in a decent place for titan guns if your not holding your own with shooters on the ground your pretty much doomed. yes in competition games move this quickly.
perhaps your clan should setup themselves so they can learn to take care of titan guns. 2 guys can easily take care of the threat outside of a gunship. we've trained for it and rarely had to use it.
sorry to keep going but in an early aspect of the game titan guns could work, but thats usually effecting 1 silo. sorry but 1 silo doesnt make it happen. a clan can easily ignore a silo for a certain amount of time.
dont be discouraged because of titan noobs on a gun and titan movement. at the most you would hope 2 or 3 of there guys sat on a titan. thats 9 people on the ground. less then you if your smart you'll ba able to adjust to this situation and dominate the match.
As i assume this is 1 round takes the match. so making a screw up mistake like this would cost your team the whole match. you cant make many heavy mistakes.
this point should be enough, getting on a titan gun is noobish and in competition will do more damage then good.Comment

I've played in over 30 non-pub titan games now, (counting scrims and matches) and I can tell you that titan spam very rarely comes into play in a match situation. When it is used, it's not the constant rain of spam you get in a pub. You just don't have the ppl to spare to do it. If you do, you're losing anyway :)Comment
