I found bf2 got boring rather quickly, If you wernt in a Vehiecle you were basically fodder. I did love killing upto 25 people a time on mashturr city with the tank.. or that other swampy one(zatar wetlands?), I used to be able to slaughter people with that recon assault gun, but dropping cars on snipers was the best :P
Bf2142 is much better, more balanced gameplay, you dont have to worry about a plane dropping bombs on your head, Titan mode is innovative, and taking tags is fun :)Comment

I wish I had that much time to play this game. You obviously get to play a lot and for that, I am jealous. To say it is nothing special to be a Brig tells me your world and my world are galaxies away. I am not criticising, just noting your good fortune.:)Comment

2142 has many game improvements that make it a much better game. For example:
-hybrid classes
-camera shake
-optimized loading
-buddy system
-improved order-issuing
-better text positioning for messages
-squadplay emphasized
Just to name a few. Unfortunately 2142 and 2 share the same weaknesses as well:
-Unbalanced
-Viewdistance needs improvement (no more imminent dust cloud)
-Lack of gameplay modes (Assault lines needs to be expanded upon in both games!)
So yeah. :)Comment

EU Walker is better than PAC's
EU gunship is better than PAC's
Fixed EU 1.40 air transport guns will be better than PAC's
PAC's default sniper rifle and assault gun are slightly better than EU's sniper and assault defaults.Comment

I put 1500 hours into BF2 and about 300 into 2142. Says it all.
2142 was basically a glorified BF2 mod - some good refinements to gameplay, but not really a step forward.
I would have been happier if DICE had actually put the good ideas from 2142 into BF2 - ie added the buddy list (as was originally promised), improved map load times with the 2142 shader system, and maybe reworked the classes, and most importantly, added new free maps. The move from the "epic/valve" model of regular free content like in 1942 and Nam, to the new "EA/Xbox Live" style model of nickel and diming customers for tiny little morsels of content (northern strike and its 3 maps, 2 vehicles, 1 (rubbish) weapon takes the biscuit) is where my love for the BF franchise died.Comment

Why do people keep saying that? Dolphin diving was nurfed pretty early on by EA and to dolphin dive is to get your head shot off since then... Kneel, exactly like 2142 is what everyone with skill does...Comment

Balance and bullet deviation aside, as they don't bother me I'll play whatever whenever. There is only 2 things that 2142 has over BF2 imho and thats the career score and the dog tags. Everything else is the same more or less. This same poll was posted on TotalBF2, guess what won there
