If you're good at Battlefield you can be a one-man-army just as easily as you can in Call of Duty. Both games rely on reflexes, map knowledge, accuracy, and basic to advanced tactics.
Well for one thing, I will claim that if you are shown MP gameplay footage of two previously unknown games, you will have no problem seeing which one is from the BF series and which one is from the COD series.

There are some general differences, like the small maze-like maps on COD and their hit-scan weapons, versus the larger maps of BF where frontlines are more likely to happen and bullets are actually modeled. The games feel very different.

Of course it is still a shooter, so you can do well with shooter skills. And if you never do anything but CQB in then that may be enough.
But if you want to utilize the whole BF game then there are aspects like how to use the various tool for personal and team benefit, how to master vehicles and use them efficiently for team support. The first 100 hours of a BF games is full of new stuff to try.

In COD all I have to look forward to is to unlock the next gun, which is slightly different from the 10 I already have. And some bonus stats.

I agree with you. I just think Avalanche was a little harsh on Call of Duty.

You might be a one man army but you most certainly wont win the round.

COD is just mindless fun, and that in itself is not bad.
But it lacks content and tactics to explore, and that is important to me. Extra maps doesnt help much, it is just more of the same.

The real problem however is that they have failed to renew themselves. I honestly couldnt tell you which COD games I own without checking first, they just blend into eachother. So I have no need for yet another COD.

In Battlefield, you can be an extremely skilled player, a one man army of sorts that can mow enemy infantry in the thousands, jump into a tank and make an entire enemy team ragequit (I know because thats me HA +epeen)

but there is a difference here

It won't necessarily mean that your team will win

in CoD, since a lot of it revolves around Deathmatch and just killing people, yes you can fraghunt your way to victory

in Battlefield however, that only goes so far, you need more ability and thought than just killing the next row of enemies, you can kill as many defenders as you want; that flag/MCOM isn't going to get any closer

they are different games, CoD isn't about thinking a great deal, how would the typical Xbox Live user cope with the headaches after all?
