I hope they improve the infantry gameplay in BF3

I really like BF2 but infantry gameplay of that game is one of the worst in FPS genre, it's quite terrible, the characters feel like weightless, like paper(especially noticeable when jumping or trying to walk on something narrow), it's very flimsy and unresponsive, the hit detection and need the need to unload a whole clip to score a kill. Also it's buggy

Frankly, if it wasn't for Battlefield's amazing vehicle gameplay and the scale it wouldn't anywhere close to Call of Duty, which has an absolutely fantastic infantry mechanics, very solid, responsive and accurate, you have a total control over your character.

One of the things I hope they address in BF3 in infantry, that, they definitely should copy from CoD.

No. There is no "infantry" in COD, just one huge TDM. Personally, the last thing I want is for BF to become COD with vehicles.

I thought BF2's character models responded well with movement. So good they had to nerf it..

No, I prefer the way BF does it. As I said, I dont think there is much infantry combat over COD. It is all about speed and twitch reflexes.

I liked Battlefield infantry game play a lot. I don't see the problem. Battlefield and Call of Duty should feel different. Although I do hope they add a feeling of weight to the BF franchise's infantry.

I can only agree to the problems regarding hit detection the amount of ammo it takes to make a kill. I have more than often released 8-15 bullets into an enemy point blank with their backs turned just to see them turn around and getting one shot off with their shotgun getting the kill and running away with less than 10% health.

              That seriously irritates me.

I liked BC2s weapon strength during the beta, but too many people said they died too fast. The same complaint in the BF3 alpha. So using less bullets to kill may or may not be seen.

I didnt think BF2 soldiers felt like paper. There was always that Battlefield feel to them. It took me a while to get used to the soldier feel of CoD4.

Playing the BF3 alpha it does feel like something else, I don't like how CoD feels at all, it felt floaty to me and tried to hide it with bob that makes me feel like im on a pogo stick

in the alpha, I felt like I had some weight, momentum and it all flowed nicely and people dropped in a satisfactory manner

the weapons were bit too powerful, overly high damage IS NOT always a good thing, especially in a BF game imo, but then some of the guns could have used more recoil, they did lower the damage over range in the alpha a bit as well and it instantly felt a lot better

The date is set according to zh1nt0 but no official announcement on what it is yet.

CoD XP starts tomorrow. Just saying.

Agree. COD's infantry fighting is intense and insane. The pacing in BF series is much slower. COD is more popular now and new people are used its fast pace actions. Just like a lot of old-timers are more into CS than anything else.

How does Battlefield offer more opportunities for brain usage than Call of Duty's infantry game play? I think you guys are loosing focus here.

If you're good at Battlefield you can be a one-man-army just as easily as you can in Call of Duty. Both games rely on reflexes, map knowledge, accuracy, and basic to advanced tactics.

                              This is inarguably true
