Yes, and thats a big point many are touting as it adds a secondary objective to the game. There were many times when I found out that the other team had a good commander that I would devote my time and resources destroying their assets to make them not be a factor in the game. When I was in a clan, we would load up in a buggy and race in, destroy, steal, and get out. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunatly, when the bad admins were on, we would be banned for base raping.

That is a big point why I think commander should be in the game.

One of the main things I did in BF2 was destroy assets, a lot of fun!

I'd like to see commander return, I'm not crazy enough to tell them to leave something out of the game, why remove a feature if no-one uses it so be it but I doubt that would happen. Most games I played on in BF2 had a commander and it was fun having an option to sit back and spot, drop supplies, and give order, it felt like it's own game. I feel commander can only inspire teamwork because that is its entire purpose.

This, not only can it inspire teamwork it's the most important spot when teamwork is happening. To the people who enjoy playing in nade fest bowed up on flag camp servers too bad.

I'm definitely for the Commander role. In our BFBC2 clan we appoint a commander even though there is no commander interface. That player pretty much just looks at the map the whole time and reports enemy positions and gives orders to the squads.

Therefore, in our opinion, since we think a Commander is vital to efficient tactical gameplay, we vote YES to give him an official Commander Interface!

This is exactly the reason why I want it. From playing in organized BF2 I know the commander is the most important person in the game. A commander who talks and just tells me people what is going on is 1000x better than one that does nothing and a commander than is smart of enough to make great strategy suggestions makes the game so much better. The bad thing is most people who are smart enough to command are usually good at the game and there aren't that many people who end up being good commanders. This means that the same few people always command and don't get to play much.

If no commander is done there will still have to be someone who does this position but he'll have nothing fun to do.

They SERIOUSLY need a commander position in BF3, and hearing it may not be there is painful, because a clan like OP4 can really put this position to good use. We use military realism and a structured order, where everyone has their place. This works like a well oiled machine, but having a spot for our commanding player like BF2 would be HUGE for us.

Well, they "remade" some of BF2 with the Limited Edition. Whos to say there will not be a 1942 expansion, like vietnam? It could still happen.

1942 deserves to much more than a expansion or even a full game..20 maps,128 players,play over pacific and europe:wee:
