Well the part they play is much diminished compared to BF2. Vehicles were easy enough to take out in BF2, they're even easier in BC2. First off since the maps are so small (again, I haven't played this game since September so if they released some non-chokepoint maps besides Atacama then I am unaware of them) and there's so many places for infantry to camp, ambushing a tank or IFV is easy enough already, then you add the ability to plant a tracer and allow any of your teammates within a 50 yard radius of the vehicle to be able to home in on it and fire a smart missile at it is insane. It's clear this game was made with the people who *****ed about the USMC tank in Karkand in mind, because they wanted vehicles to be an almost non-factor. They're useful, but nowhere near as useful as in BF2.

Also, the movement is sooo much better in BC2 in terms of smoothness, BF2 player models moved very erratically and buggy. Sure there isn't any prone, but the movement in BC2 is definitely an upgrade. I agree with you about the weapons though.
Well I will concede that infantry movement was far better in the earlier versions of BF2 before all the 'can't shoot while jumping, can't shoot while standing, can't crouch to get up from prone, can't jump if you haven't double-knotted your shoes' patches. Before, though, the movements were fine.

Health regen is fine with me either way, in my opinion, but the spawn immunity was patched out... Slugs are good, but they should be able to hit people from across the map. The perks I don't care much about either, although I would definitely be fine without them.
Ah, didn't know they patched out some of the immunity. Is rez immunity still in? That pissed me off more than spawn immunity. Nothing worse that shooting at someone and having him rez someone right in front of you so now you have an invincible enemy and another you can't hit due to the meat shield.

In BC2 that shack only hides it's not their invincible force field. Then there is the shells that you can actually see and fire at long ranges, even more so since they arc.
Take tanks as an example. Imagine if you had a BC2 tank with all the perks installed; coaxial MG (one that doesn't take two seconds of sustained fire to off a single infantry), smoke, and quick reload. Now you add in more armour so that it doesn't die from two RPGs all the time, and take away the soldiers' ability to magically make heat-seeking warheads out of normal dumbfire RPGs by using a gun that shoots a blinking pink light thereby allowing them to shoot enemy vehicles parked on the other side of a mountain. Granted, hiding behind a half-height brick wall won't stop tank fire anymore (but metal crates still will...ph34r t3h m3t4l cr4t35!!!1!), but I'll give that up to no longer have the equivalent of the Meteor spell from Diablo 2 put into a BF game.

        Re: Battlefield Play4free

Oh look this is a bad company 2 vs bf2 thread now, yay.

The way I look at it, BC2 kinda wants to be more realistic, especially with how the weapons handle and how your player moves, but then they don't allow you to lay down, which kinda goes against the whole thing. BC2 just feels like it's all underwater, everything feels slow, you run like you're in custard, you pull up your sights too slow etc etc. Maybe it's cause I am twitch kinda player, but BF2 allowed EVERY kind of gamer to be happy, if you wanted teamplay, you had your support and medic who can be immense team players (or engi's in tanks), if you wanted to play a twitch style game, there was infantry only along with the quick gamespeed. If you wanted to fly, GO FLY. etc etc It just seems that BC2 misses those hectic 64player moments with jets smashing into friendly choppers while you drive your buggy down a hill past 2 tanks and flatten a sniper.

in b4 rant, if bf3 doesn't have more than bf2 in terms what you can do, l will have lost all faith in DICE, and I hope that some day I can become a lead games designer and make a PROPER new bf2.

Well If DICE does drop the ball with BF3 then I hope there is another developer out there that can take their spot. I thought it was going to be Novalogic with their new one, Delta Force Angel Falls, but it looks like that one has been canceled as there has been no news on the game in 2 years. That or wait and see if consoles ever catch up to PCs.

            The Game is really Bad.
            It seems like cartoon style.
Oh my god can anyone make a nice game?
Can anyone make a nice game?
A game for PC and no consoles?
            Can anyone?
I love BF 1942 and BF2 guys ,but i think the next BF games are not in same level because EA intersting only for consoles. That is the reallity and for this reason iam not optimist about BF3 ,i think will be a medium level game (as BC2) with no interesting for Teamplay.

BC2 is not that bad, just a brand new approach to battlefield. More "Counter-Strike" if you will. I know, I know, BF should remain BF.

But at least the graphics are a HUGE improvement! At least we know what they are capable of graphic wise.

****ty graphics? Besides Crysis, Bad Company 2 has the best graphics of any PC game.

Yes, I mean really? There might be better looking games, but there is nothing wrong with BC2 graphics.

Okay, well thats just a lie. I know I can't run Crysis on high at all with my 2.2 Ghz dual core and 9800GTX, but I can run BC2 at low graphics with some AA and still have it be pretty smooth (I always choose gameplay over graphics, so it could probably go higher).

One problem might be that BC2 is more CPU based and you are running it on a laptop. That or the video drivers need to be updated.

BFBC2 runs poorly on my system, too.

                              I'm not on a laptop...

Yea it has to be drivers or something, my system is consistently worse than yours. I get at least a constant 30 FPS and above when not in much action.
