Recon is my all-weather, all-map, and all-purpose class.

I guess people have the mentality that sniper = range. Going against full automatic enemies = BIG NO NO.

I admit going against MG3 with my M24 is difficult because his RoF throws off my aim quite effectively. But those are very rare situations.

Well, let me add to that, extreme accuracy at mid-range, one shot kill pt blank or any space no bigger than a room, anti-vehicle, and "wall-hacking capability" (motion mine).

Most of my deaths at close range were the result of Gustav and An94, sometimes 40 mm. Deaths from camping could be knife or enemy sniper.

do you guys use default scopes with the sniper rifles? Or something else? What are your load outs for different situations?

Its the most versatile, its not magnified enough to make close combat awkward, but it zooms in far enough for long range shots.

We deserved to lose the round, but I didnt deserve the negative K/D. If I didnt try so many other things first, who knows, we may have won.

You just got the game. I didnt break even the first week or so with me running around with different load outs and trying different things.

As for sniper rifle scopes, I tend to use the 12x as well. Sometime red dot, but not very often. I will run n gun with the 12x. Its a little harder because you can lose your target, but its fun.

Extra explosive
Magnum ammo
Vehicle WARHD.

I usually end with 2.3 kd, good rounds, 3 kd, enemy too newbie, above 3 kd.

I move from building to building, picking off targets quickly and relocating.

Its funny how I said that... just now I went 12-5... something I havent done before in BC2... Im not sure if I have gone more than 1 kill more than deaths (i.e. 11-10)

Haha, when I first got it I was destroying everything. I love when games first come out because everyone sucks...

Then everyone plays it more than me, and I start to die more...

When I first go it I kept dying because I played like BF2/2142, now most of the time my ratio is ~2. Oh and also the fact you have a death even if a medic ressurect you.

Thats a good point Infernalis. I wonder what our KDR would be if it was compared to BF2 ratio calculations? I havent seen any stats on how much you were revived. If you could find that out, you could calculate it.

I've noticed this too...

My k/d has taken a dive since the new maps came out, and I started playing again. Only good games I've had are when I squad with a level 50 and follow him around >_>

Heh, don't play for KD, push up.

I have more respect for a lv 20 constantly trying to destory an MCOM building than a lv 40 sitting a galaxy away from the battlefield.

For distance sniping:

M24, M95 or GOL, with 12x scope, magnum ammo and mortar.

For CQB:

SV98 with 4x scope, magnum ammo and C4.
VSS with standard scope, extra ammo, magnum ammo and c4.

Not true. If you can snipe well from distance you can rack up points because of the extra marksman points you get.

yeah and your team loses because all you wanted to do was sit back and snipe. Hell they don't even use all the tools they have at their disposal. I can't remember how many thousands if times I've seen snipers sitting at the base trying to "snipe" and MISS!!!! then to add insult to injury there's no spotting, no arty and no motion sensors. If you ask me the sniper class should yield WAY fewer points as an effort to get those that love the sniper class to get off their ass and do SOMETHING.
