You "forgot " BF2142, although that seems to happen for a lot of BF2 fans.

But if you are wearing those glasses, couldnt you argue that BF2 failed to stay true to BF1942? Fewer vehicles, no ships etc.
I predict that BF3 will be just as different to BF2 as BF2 was to BF1942.

I used to suffer from anti-2142 syndrome, but I have learned that as much as I didnt like future at the time, it was an awesome concept, and its more battlefield than what is out these days, though I really want BC2...

This. Everyone around here seems to view previous BF games through rose-colored classes. Do you guys saying that you won't buy BF3 unless it's exactly like BF2 realize you're in a minority and it will never be a port of BF2? Vreki makes an excellent point with 2142. It stuck very much to BF "tradition" yet the "hardcore" BF2 fans think it's stupid. From what I can tell it's only because it isn't exactly like BF2.

If you just want a BF2 port so bad, just keep playing the same damn game.

Yeah, it is the Best Buy skin. I guess, looking at the weapons, it looks more like the first generation herzog or maybe the BAUR.

BF2 is the best Game Ever.
Jets,Choppers ,Tanks,APC,Boats,Commanders,Artillery everything.

G36E, overpowered medics, worthless assault kit, claymores, insufficient anti-air, horrible hitreg, off-centre ironsights, grenade spam. Not saying I disagree with you mate, but BF2 is not without its problems. I reinstalled it about a month ago and while it's still a world ahead of BC2, there are things about it that definitely need some work. Hopefully they get it ironed out when BF3 comes and if they can find it in their hearts to add in mobile ships like BF1942 had it would be the best BF ever.

Of course, there's still a chance we'll see autoaim knives, autoregen health, revive and spawn invincibility, high-yield anti-infantry rocket launchers, and medics with 70s porn star moustaches so there is still plenty of opportunities for DICE to crap in our bean curd.
