I've been on hiatus from BF2142 for almost a year, partially due to waiting for the patch in the hopes it would stop a lot of the cheaters. All in all I've really been enjoying this past week or so. Sure some games have been a bit sucky with no teamwork but for the most part I've been in some really good squads.
The only thing that's really annoyed me so far was last night I was bombarded with kick vote requests against me. We we're playing on the Bridge at Remagen map, we we're one on side and the enemy were on the other. It was a bit of a stand off. I was picking people off with my PK rockets and using the single shot mode of my Voss and that's when the kick votes started coming in. The first happened after I killed my first enemy. The vote failed but then he kept doing it over and over. Then for at least the first half of the game other people on his team started doing it as well. Very very annoying. They had =swe= tags for their clan names and all I could think was that they should be ashamed to wear clan tags.
There's only a few servers because the patch is still in the beta stage. When it becomes final then I'd imagine all the servers will start supporting it.
I'm having some real problems logging into the EA UK forum and really wanted to ask Bazajaytee a question, maybe someone here can do so on my behalf? My question relates to the kit unlocks. I've been a Brigadier General for well over a year now and as such can no longer receive any unlock points. I invested them all in unlocking everything except the right hand branch of the Support kit. I think I have the first one or two but now I can't get access to the rest. I was hoping that Bazajaytee might be inclined to give everyone who reaches the Brigadier General rank a full tree unlock. Why would he do this? Well he did it for Northern Strike i.e. gave that away for free even though I pre-ordered it when it first came out. How dissapointed was I when it turned up late and when I opened the box all I had was a lame "go to this website and enter this code" piece of card. I really want to try out the sticky grenade things and the shot gun. I don't even have access to the advanced support box. I have to wait until my squad gets a field upgrade each time.Comment

I thought you only get points for going up a rank, I'll put some more effort into getting more awards and see what happens. I'm sure I got an award or two last week for NS and didn't get any unlock points. That could of been a server glitch though as when I looked at the dates for my awards they were all from 2008ish. Server glitch being that it would show my rank as being a fresh starter and all my unlocks not being selectable. Logging out and in again sorted that but I did play a few games in that state. Not having a decent sprint unlock was a real killer!
When the Falcon device first came out I thought it looked pretty cool but I'm one of those people who moves around a lot, like when I was playing Mirrors Edge and would do a big jump I'd actually jump up off my sofa. Same with Halo Reach and the mega annoying "If They Came to Hear Me Beg" achievement. Think I'd end up throwing the falcon off my desk by accident.Comment

Hey there. I've been away for about a year myself and just got back to the game recently. Indeed, unlocks after Brigadier General can only come from obtaining Northern Strike awards. Like you said, it probably was a server glitch. BTW, Feel free to add me to your list if you're looking for someone who also appreciates teamplay, although I'm mostly trying to rack up commander time for now...Originally posted by Tann San
