Re: Shogun Total War 2!
I maxed out a ninja as an assassin and he changed. He received dark red armor over his ninja suite and a devils mask.

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
yeh was a great battle, it was only rebels so not like other really high end armies that I have seen the AI produce but still tough, it even did the smart thing and split its forces to try and flank me somewhat, cant stop the might of a banzai charge though ha, the katana heroes would have stopped anything as well hehe
my favourite still has to be the nihon maru on fire (like a round after I got it ha)
was annoyed until I found out you can recruit them again haLeave a comment:

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
Wow, that mountain ridge battle had to be fun. There was a map in Shogun 1 like that and whoever got to the top first usually won.
Those were some great shots.

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
hehehe
there also a cool feature you can do with the camera (forget the button but meh) basically shows a first person ish perspective from a soldier in the selected formation, for archers it follows the arrow hehe
really enjoyed this battle, reminds me of some epic battles I had in MTW2 playing as the English against the scots and due to massive numerical inferiority I camped on a mountain with me longbowmen and had epic victory, this time I rained death on them from the top of the cliffs, then had the no daichi and katana heroes charge down the hill and obliterate everyone hehe

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
Yeah, I've tried demo with my current rig (Phenom 965 stock, 4GB DDR2-800 and 9800GTX+), and there isn't any issue with it. I plan to build a new rig for some heavy stuff (Crysis, Warhead and 2, FSX etc). I will probably wait to see if AM3 CPU works on AM3+ socket and migrate to DDR3. Definitely a new GPU (I'm looking at you, EVGA 460 dual card.)Leave a comment:

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
The good thing with solo games is you can wait it won't lose its flavor (unless you wait too much), not the case with multiplayer games (unless you want Shogun 2 for the multiplayer and get owned by monks armies lol).
About the rig, my CPU died some months ago and I'm running with my old overclocked E2140, which is like one of the cheapest core duo you can find (if they still sell it). So oc E2140, 9800GT and 3go ram and the game works fine in medium with no lag (except huge armies in Kyoto in X8 speed).Leave a comment:

Damn you! You make me so want this game. But I need to finish the job here, find a new one (hopefully with more free time) and build a new rig.Originally posted by InfernalisYay, won the campaign in 1562. Just played the demo. I like what they have done to the series. I have not played any Total War since the first Medieval, my brother was into it more that I. Im not much on turn based games other than CIV but this is a good one.Leave a comment:

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
No, that's not what I mean, if you spawn a rebel army, the stack of rebel will get wiped out as soon as the enemy return with its full stack army, and the full stack have almost 0 casualties (1-2 guy dead per unit), next turn the replenishment rate will make like nothing happened. It's good when there's no big army next to the settlement otherwise the rebel army don't even last one turn.
I think I'm going to win on this one, I have 2 full stacks, no real enemy, 2 stacks in preparation, and 100k+ in bank (14k per turn). The game decided to trololol on me though, I had a huge battle and managed to win, then I take the settlement and... the game crash, I have to fight the battle again...Leave a comment:

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
typically yeh, presence of a large army also makes it harder to incite
but dam some of those rebel armies can be big, I had good success creating some rebel regions along my borders to slow the approach of my enemies heheLeave a comment:

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
It works in the other way too, every captured area will take time to convert from shintoism to christianism.
As for revolt it's only good for taking towns with little garrisons, if there is a huge army next to it they will wipe the rebel army with almost 0 casualties.Leave a comment:

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
Im still getting sieged at Kyoto ha, its the only region I have in the area so gonna have to be capturing more land soon ha
as for getting into war with an ally, is a tricky one, could always look at who they dislike/are at war with and work it from that angle (build alliances with people they hate, cause wars etc)
or try getting people to attack them to destroy them
I like causing revolts at the moment, pity there aren't a lot of christians to incite. Is gonna be fun when I start a campaign and convert to christianity

Re: Shogun Total War 2!
Actually I had 2 naval armies both full, and 2 full stacks + some strong garrisons at chokepoints, I wasn't really losing but with my ninja I saw I had like 4-5 stacks going on me (and some stacks of uber veterans -_-), Sagara suddenly betrayed me with a full stack (as expected when you don't give them money even though you're ally since the dawn of time and made 3-4 wars with them) and a full stack army going by sea managed to land after I destroyed all their fleet except a fleeing kobaya thing boat (the little boat with 30 archers and 5 fighters) with 6 archers and 1 fighter (1000+ guys on a little boat)... So I said screw that, I will start anew.
For now it's going well, except some things I screwed... I upgraded all my castles and markets but didn't saw it takes food! I was like wtf, I have to quickly research farm+. Ok it takes... 4 turns to research and 5 to build! My only option was to rush to others settlements for their food, so I allied with Sagara and made them break their alliance with Shoni (Sagara have a full stack from the beginning, couldn't attack them), rushed to Shoni, declared war (-50 diplomacy for violation of treaties yay), took all their settlements, crushed all the rebels spawning, managed to survive and build farm+ (1950 gold) everywhere.
Now my diplomacy is **** (from -70 to -40 except 2-3 clans) but I managed to gain some trade agreements by paying some clans since I earn 9k per turn and have 30k in bank but Sagara is a pain in the ass, I have to take their settlement soon enough to complete the objective, I think when I'll have some 4-5 full stacks I'll swarm them before proceeding further.
As for mods I downloaded this one and the one that lessen the realm divide effect (-60 instead of -200), it's stupid that long time ally with 150+ suddenly betray you. I don't have the strengh to fight some everyone again with the same clan in the exact same way. After this campaign I will take the peasant master clan, I read it's quite fun (swarms of ashigarus with 15 moral).
Check the yellow bar in your clan tab, when it's full it happens. It's like 18 settlements in short campaign. When does the divide happen? Like at 30 captured areas?Leave a comment:
