Guys, im going to be honest, when i bought this game i was hoping to see a level up from 2142. Instead i got a whole different experience, one which feels like its completely away from battlefield 2142. This game just isn't like battlefield 2142 or the battlefield series.

Did anyone else want to see the next 2142, 2, and came out with a much different view?

Im not complaining, i mean i truly love this game, but i really just wish DICE would begin production on battlefield 3, i miss only MP, conquest, titan's, Krylov ownage, Clark ownage...i guess it just hit me how much i miss 2142 lol

I didn't know what to expect, seeing as how this is a port from consoles. It does have that console feel to it, if you know what I mean, but I think that DICE did a considerably good job porting this game to PC. It's definitely better than COD, but it's not a typical BF game. We won't have the next true BF game until they give us one that is not a port from consoles.

Agreed. I knew rush wasn't gonna cut it, but the sucky conquest have made me go back to tf2 and I'm seriously considering reinstalling 2142 although I know I'll be annoyed by the laggines.

bring on pc exclusive bf3 plz.

A large number of people also felt that BF2142 wasn't Battlefield at all.

A large number? The only people I saw who were complaining were those who just tested the demo, and the demo was ****ty for sure (0 unlocks, you ran like a snail, no grenade etc).

BF2142 is far closer to BF2 than BC2. You just take BF2, put it in the future, work on balance and add some gadgets, otherwise it's the same.

On the other hand I saw harcore BF1942 gamers complain about the infantry orientation of BF2.

I'm just happy they released the game without huge issues and bugs. BF2142 was full of them when it was released.

I love BF2142 nonetheless, titan, gunships (I'm a gs wh0re), and conquest. Good memories.

Aside from the "Battlefield" in the title, the rest should have clued you in that it wasn't going to be the same as previous games aside from, well, Bad Company 1.

And to the guy who said something about how BC2 is a console port, it's not. They had separate teams working on the PC version and another for the consoles.

Wow really? They sure must have compared a lot of notes then. The only difference I see is the way you connect to the game servers and couple of small changes here and there. I have played the PS3/Xbox360 and the PC versions.

The majority of BF2 players failed to move on to BF2142. A quick look on game-monitor.com shows that even today there are 5 times as many playing BF2 as BF2142. Surely you remember all the whining about the sci-fi setting and lack of jets?

BC2 is not any of the previous BF games, and that would also have been stupid since they have already been released once
But I have no problem seeing that it has its roots in BF and not in COD.

They didn't moved on 2142 because it was considered like a mod, just like BF:V for BF1942. But I don't remember most people saying this wasn't battlefield.

As for BC2 it's not a console port since it's a multiplatform game, but it's the same since they only added the basic PC things (mouse/keyboard support, browser, settings) and not modified the gameplay .

I wish this game was just called Bad Company 2, in all honesty it doesn't deserve any mentioning with the Battlefield Franchise.

Lets just hope BF3 does the job ay? Not a bad filler game though.

I believe it is on a new foundation with a faint scent of Battlefield. But have we not all but had confirmed to us that BF3 was in development? It's been a while, but I remember reading something saying that there were ~5 BF games in production, and an unnamed one was looking "really good". For now, I want to believe that Dice can at least throw one more original BF game into the PC community, clearly we made our voices heard by dominating BC2 online so hard their servers took a poop. They obviously thought that the PC scene was fading, I think we obviously showed them we're still here and strong.


And I'd like to add, while this may not be Battlefield, it sure as hell doesnt mean its bad.
