This game is supposed to mimic a big push of a military force. This is something that every single war had more than it's fair share of. You are thinking of it as a 32vs32 which it actually isn't. These games are not intended to be a stalemate.
This isn't true and there is hardly any room for realism in FPS gaming.
In fact what most people call realistic isn't even realistic. You get these "realistic" mods that are further from realism than the original game. Like soldiers who can't reload a gun and walk at the same time. I remember one popular "realistic" mod that everyone claimed was extremely realistic and if you shot an AK from the hip standing the first bullet would go somewhat straight the second would hit the floor 5ft in front of you and the 3rd would hit the ceiling 5ft in front of you. Then they make every single action take three times as many commands as other games
