I've been dying a lot too. I've been struggling to keep my average above 1, honestly. It's hovering right around 1.1 or so.

I used to average around 2-3 for most rounds in BF2142.

Same same. In the beta I had a k/d of around 1.0 while in BF2142 I had 2.4 with almost only infantry.

Mine is around 0.80 and it sucks... I see this as adjusting to a completly new enviroment.

It's harder to hit people than previous battlefield games... I shoot right at the guy but I don't even get a hitreg.. (no it's not my ping, that is around 15-18)

I don't know guess I still need a lot of practice in shooting.. especialiy the longer distances.. I empty my clip on someone, dude turns around and I'm dead!

On the other hand it's a good thing, they didn't make it easy so I will be playing this game for a long time to get better.

Any advice to boost my k/d ratio is always welcome off course :nod:

i don't have a 1:1 but i think we should not give a crap about k/d and just enjoy. a lot of guys doing teamwork more than killing have lower than 1 kdr but who cares? kdr don't mean a thing if you're having fun.

but if you want to raise it, i'd say vehicle whore or recon snipe.

OK I suck and I know it but I do try. The worst frickin part of this game is squad deathmatch when your whole team besides you is hiding in the trees to snipe maybe 1 or 2 people while you are left alone to fend for yourself. I guess some people just don't get the meaning of team. I am ussually an engineer and another person I normally play with is a medic so we can work together. I don't play assault much because chances are pretty good there is one around and recon hell i feel the game has enough people thinking they can snipe everyone.

I will admit that i do care about my KD ratio and it annoys me that i do because it can affect how much i enjoy the game. The problem is i dont like my KD ratio reflecting on my performances in game and having others judge it as being a better or worse player. I know i shouldnt give a dam but i do. However i have noticed that giving a dam AND doing teamwork really helps the team especially if its a ticket based gameplay system.

It originally was 2.4 something but now I am steadily decreasing each round. I think it is because I changed my FOV to 85 and so I am definitely changing it back. It is so hard to play with an FOV like that. To those of you who can, you are amazing. x_x

mines hovering around 1.3, I've found that whenever I play a nearly full server I always get a 1.0 or less k/d ratio...

But, on a server with fewer numbers I can sometimes pull 2+....

I guess it's because I don't camp much and I love flanking. With less people...I'm less likely to be caught sprinting =D

Regardless, k/d ratio is a crappy judge of skill. Anyone can sniper whore or vehicle whore and get 10+ kills and 2-3 deaths, but that isn't terribly fun for me, nor good for my team, so I don't do it often. >=)

Hovering around 1.3 here also, people WILL have worse KDR's in this game compared to previous BF titles mainly because being revived no longer saves you from having a death registered on your score sheet.

Positive K/D too (1.25) but I don't mind running everywhere dying in rush mode especially on the defensive side.

My FoV's been set to 90 since the retail was released so Ive gotten used to it over time.

Im sitting at a resonable 1.6 k/d having spent most of my time as a medic, how Ive managed to survive running from dead teammate to another is quite cool.

BF2 Ive a 1.8 k/d so doing well to catch it up :)

Bothers me just sitting back and snipe, no fun in that.

I cap most of my kills knocking off camping recons or defending explosive sites.

I don't use recon or use chopper.

I do get about 4,000 points per round from all the silly teamwork.

mines 4.94 lol

I've only really played assault, over 24 hours in the game, 120k assault score (have 4k as engi though, nothing as recon or medic)

and I whore my beloved M16 (and ofc the noob tube) about gold rank 6-7 on those (m16 is higher rank :p)

Gold rank 7 on tanks (whorage)

Gold rank 2-3 on air (mainly UAV)

I tend to play the game like CS, as in cautious advance, sound is a good ally in that regard; but the M16 just gives the ability to storm those points etc, murder everyone and move on as well

I expect when I begin to play some of the other classes and I don't have my high powered weapons (or noob tube lol) I will die a hell of a lot more, but meh

hhehehehehe, you been lucky with the tank; for some odd reason when I choose to hop into one, there are no engies around on my team, and 6 to 8 guys on opfor are engies and recon so I'm dead before I realize.

thats the thing I only play with friends of mine on TS etc, and one of them is an awesome engineer

we fly the apache/MI28 together extremely effectively as well
