I have a whopping 1.31 atm, I started really low though and only got a better kdr once I started using the tanks and slowing down my gameplay. Coming from COD4 I am used to running and gunning so I have to back it off a bit to improve in BC2.

Dont worry when you get to know the places and guns and exploits.. you will eventually be unstoppable.

I don't play conservtively, I try to finish rounds the fastest I can and it involves dying a lot. I'm not below blowing myself up with 2 or more defenders if it means saving the flag, getting those two last seconds to get the mcom blown up; I also don't mind playing bullet sponge for team mates if need be to cover their retreat; so no, a .50 KDR isn't bad.

Now that servers are more stable and I finally found a somewhat good setup for my computer, I am no longer dying as much when someone jumps the gun on me. Learn when to stealth, the "win" button that is the knife attack can really give you a better chance of takign down a full squad of enemies. Don't listen to those that say you can't flank and outmaneuver, you can and very well.

As you can see from my stats, I die a lto more often than I kill.

Play for fun IMO. Your KDR will catch up with experience. Medic do die more due to chasing around people with 1/2 health not knowing it. Thats my case anyways.

My philosophy is Objective > All else.

Defab dead teammate (Which gets me killed by snipers)
Rescue detonation sites (Get blown up by tanks)
Spot more than shoot when I'm out of range
Gun > Knife.

I find that kd is useless, as long as I rack up points, who cares about kd? This isn't CS!

I find it stupid that they decided to count deaths even when revived. It just completely takes the fun out of running into a mess of people with a squad mate or two and just reviving the crap out of each other, because you will end up with a crap load of deaths.... i really dont understand why they did that

Surprisingly enough, mine's positive. Given how I play Assault almost all the time and I try to restrain myself from whoring the noobtoob it means I try to get as many kills as possible with the AR, often resulting in a lot of kill damage assists and deaths.

I'm starting to consider turning into a full-time engie/vehicle whore...

The M16 is nice, though. Doesn't make me any better or anything, but I just like it. :)

Well, you did die, and then you got rezzed. 'Defeats' may be a more appropriate term, I guess. Whatever you call it, you were brought down and the game records that. No more 6-man medic squads rezzing each other and flying across a map like a locust swarm and then posting screenies of their scoreboard at the end while they orgy fap to their KDRs. No sirree.

But the real reason reviving is good is because it does refund respawn tickets, so jumping in and reviving a bunch of guys will help your team out with the win. And isn't that what the game's really all about anyway?

Who cares about tickets, I play to kill not to cap flags. There aren't enough medics anyway since everyone plays assault so that they cause use their precious noobtube as their primary weapon...

Well for starters, the people who want to win the game care about tickets, since the team with the most tickets wins. I guess it comes down to whether you play to win the game or play to boost your stats. Personally if I'm not playing a game to win there's no point in me playing it, because I could just go make an Excel spreadsheet with some pretty numbers on it and call them 'my stats' and it would mean about as much.

But we must be playing on different servers, because I always see a motherlode of medics running around and typically I'm one of only a handful of assaults on either team.

Thats because they play to kill, not to cap flags.

My KDR sucks too. I could probaly inflate it by ditching the engineer and leaving each time my team gets routed. On the other hand, I could ignore it and enjoy the the game. A tough choice.

I've been dying a lot too. I've been struggling to keep my average above 1, honestly. It's hovering right around 1.1 or so.

I used to average around 2-3 for most rounds in BF2142.

I'm still enjoying the game immensely and glad I'm not doing terribly well yet. It'll give me some room for significant skill improvement in the game, not just adapting to a different medium.

I guess you just dont get it, I find it more fun to play well in a server, than for my team to win and me play ****ty. I understand that you play for your team and not yourself, so if you find dieing a lot fun then be my guest, but like I've said for bf2142, getting gold is more satisfying than my team winning...

I currently have a KD ratio of 1.51 but tbh i wouldnt say im great at the game. I think going from an xbox FPS to a PC fps after all these years has just made me very twitchy which helps in firefights.
