Yes, that was expected. No one is saying that, but D2D had it up almost at the same time; so it's something with steam's distribution model. You'd think they'd be working overtime to fix it, and reassuring the peoples that they'll have it up in no time, I don't know, the usual PRBS.

There is none of that, that's what has us with our panties in a bunch; hell, when mail orders got to buyers earlier than digital ones was angering enough.

This is true. But D2D has had their pre-load up for a while now, too. Steam seems to be dropping the ball a lot lately with MAJOR releases.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the new interface that Steam is working on at the moment. Since Steam has such a big user base, then if they drop the ball every now and then, people will still use Steam.

D2D's preload went live on sunday which is when Steam was supposed to but it all went tits up and here we are.

And the thing is; we don't know if keep waiting and be unable to cancel the purchase or see if we can cancel and try other digital copy.

D2D still refuses to sell outside of the US, else I'd have gone with them, and if it was on GFWL, I'd buy it now no second thoughts.

People got mad that the other digital distribution vendors have already released a pre-load, and Steam hasn't.
The people at Steam haven't even acknowledged that people are buying this highly anticipated game from them. It just seems like they don't give a damn now that they've gotten their money.

I haven't bought digital downloads elsewhere but I suspect the way the installers work is slightly different from that of Steam, which could explain the tech issues DICE/Steam we're having. Of which they informed people long time ago.

Dude, the complaint here is that Steam isn't providing any information; this isn't a minor back catalog release on discount, is a major release for a very demanded game, if they weren't going to provide a pre-load, that in this time an dage is a given and expected service it should be clearly announced in the store that the game won't preload. Failing to provide that, if your competitors have already provided a service like that, and have you beat to it; you should be able to at least step up and provide a clear answer as to why you are not able to provide this particular service.

I for one, am not buying any preorder from steam again, if I wanted my digital copies late, I'll buy them post launch thank you.

So saying something is a beta excuses anything and everything?

At what point would you have a problem with it? If it made your PC explode and killed your dog, you'd just say, "Well, it's a beta. No big deal?"

MAJOR issues like deleting games/saves and using up SECUROM authorizations should be picked up well before the application is released to the general public.

By your standards if I write "Beta" on my shirt it would give me an excuse to just stop going to work, or start stealing office supplies.

EDIT: Some people are being denied access altogether to games they've bought on Steam.

Their games aren't even showing up in the list and won't start from the folder. The beta UI basically stole money from them. That's okay with you?

Technically you're both right. It's not right to have people test something that can cause serious problems, but you do also have to consent to trying an unfinished possibly untested(Thoroughly) product when you "sign up" for a beta.

But what's "right" or "wrong"? It's just morality. =)
