Apparently, you don't have the knowledge about how things is run. Who the heck can get a commercial copy prior to release date? It must be someone in distribution chain. If you ever work in a retail or distribution business, you know they usually have tight inventory control, unless some people aren't really that honest.

The ones who are cranking illegal copies of DVD or other discs aren't using 50 burners. It's the ineconomic way to do things like this. From cases in East Asia, those people literally use industrial DVD machine to make them in tens of thousands. Operations of this scale need some protection from both police and gangsters.

Cracking groups will often recruite ppl who have access to early releases such as the small shop owner and will pay them for the game for a few hours, if you read cracking groups recruitment ascii you`ll see.

You will find your mistaken, the news and documentery programs have video evidence of this and how FACT are trying to cut it out, I also admitted that the East Asia has a bigger problem but 99% of pirate copies are sold on normal blank discs bough on the market in the uk, we dont get the same fake as sold in asia. Your link is interesting but I see that dvd copying is a small side line to their multimillion dollar drug industry.. i dont think there gonna become bankrupt if their dvd piracy was halted.

Court case highlights organised crime links with software piracy
                          Simon Quicke
                          February 17, 2010 11:27 AM

The link between organised crime and illegal software has been laid bare in a case at Reading Crown Court which ended with a prison sentence.

Nicholas Wright, a software pirate from Lampeter, Wales, was sent down for 15 months after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit burglary.

As part of the small gang, Wright made a spate of burglaries in May and June last year stealing £190,000 worth of software.

                          ...

"As this case unfortunately shows, people who sell and distribute pirated software are often connected to more serious crimes such as identity theft, fraud and burglary," said Michala Wardell, head of anti-piracy at Microsoft UK.
                          And this is in UK.

you cant pirate on the ps3 that leave the 360, if you were to use your pirate games after the release date of the said game you will not get banned.. and you cant use the multiplayer on the PC version whithout a code so you need to buy the original.. hence more piracy on the 360

Sony wont ban people for glitching/exploiting either so its a haven for people.

360 bans are a sensitive area as people can legitimately get their hands on the retail version of the game and play away, testing MP etc, before the release date so even then how can they tell between a legit and a pirate.
