Ugh don't get me started on CoD's "hardcore" mode. That was an abomination to the game and its gameplay, however I could see this being a bit more enjoyable.
also check your history - a lot of servers you've might have played on have gone hardcore.
I think it's great. It adds the one thing that BF2 and CoD killed, the ability to be stealthy.
No spotting me for everyone to see. If you see me, you have to type it or kill me. If not, I won't engage until I know I have you...I'll just sneak away and hide from you.
No commander to find me through scan or UAV.
The most fun I've had in a video game was layin low on Basrahs Edge in Desert Combat and C4'ing chokepoints with cleverly placed C4 and then hiding and waiting to blow it up. It's the perfect crime because you don't know where I was when I detonated that. BF2 killed that because everyone [could] know my exact position on the map. CoD4 multiplayer hardcore killed it with the UAV and the wonky spawning system.
I think it's great that the bf series is bringing this on board. I love infiltrating enemy lines and they don't know I'm there until a flag drops. I remember once I was 3rd place in a long battle and I never fired the first shot.

Overall its alot of fun, you really have to slow things down. Snipers are one hit kill, all others 2 -3 hit kills. Shotgun's have a bug where if you zoom in it gives you the aiming circle. Tracer dot is useless because it has no ADS and you have to do a ton of guess work to use it.
