I have no idea, andI'm asking cos I got a silver star once; but bronze you can get at the very least, three times in the same round.
Sometimes as soon as 2 minutes in the round, once I got that by reviving 2 team mates, and leaving a health pack with the snipers, two were in my squad and I was constantly getting squad heals.
I have reported this but I don't think it's a bug.
There is some rampant point whoring going on with health and ammo packs tough; so maybe it's related.
and I mean, yes, it used to be that you got the stars at the end of the round; but here you get them in the midst of battleComment

Oooh and you can get again and again; Maybe those ranks aren't that crazy to get after all.
What's keeping you from getting a gold star or two every other round?
One thing I noticed is even tough medics and assault can look "cheap" in the scoring, the recons and engies get a lot more bonuses for their roles.
Squad repairs and taking out tanks with RPGs or C4 that net you 50 for each kill, then the vehicle damage, vehicle destruction and double kill bonuses; added to squad assit if someone spotted for you and you can rival if not exceed your fellow medics and assault players.Comment

Yea I play a lot of engineer (The Xm8 wins, and with the rocket launcher...) and get round end high scores a good percentage of the time.Comment

Right now I think they've reduced the award requirements. Any of the pins that require 2 kills (like the Avenger pin, for instance) you get with just one kill. I get AR pins after 3-4 kills as opposed to the 7 it's supposed to require. The gold stars are far too easy to obtain for any of the weapons and those are 5k a pop. Right now the requirements are already half of what they say they are, and maybe for the bigger ones like the stars DICE will bump it up. I think 500-1000 kills for a gold star on a weapon would make more sense than the (100? 200? I forget) they have it at right now.Originally posted by =)BiT(= Evant3kComment

IMHO, I think the 'points' for weapons should be balanced between kills, and time played. Only if you have either the uber-skills or time to devote to the game, will you be able to max out the weapons. Note: I am only talking about weapon upgrades.
Ranks are another matter.
If it is too difficult to achieve, I see a few people wanting some cheats to achieve it. I like the COD style experience points stuff. Regardless of my K/D ratio that day, I got something for my efforts.
Sorry if this sounds noobish, or trying to nerf the game, thats not my intention. Its a game, and should be fun for many levels of skill. Personally, I played on HC servers in COD4 and found out I wasn't that bad of a player at all. Even had fun playing. THAT is what I'd like to see in this game.
And YES, I shall continue to play COD4. Just want to play both.Comment
