The closest thing to a "bottleneck" area that I have seen are the bomb sites in the Rush mode. Since one team needs to arm them and one team needs to stop or disarm them, things can get pretty crazy around them. However, you can approach from any angle usually. And since most things are destructible there isn't any positions that are invulerable to return fire.

So it's nothing at all like the Titans in 2142 if that's what your asking.

i think it would be better if they limited the # of ammo boxes one can put down. if they limit these to like 3 and they deplete, they shouldn't be able to put out more.

Re: so how have they dealt with nade spam?

Just had a game where about 8 enemies guys were sat by a crate on the second floor of a building. They had about 30 ammo and health boxes around them and they were constantly chucking grenades at the stairs with the huge amount of ammo and health boxes instantly healing and re arming them with grenades. So it would appear that nade spamming is quite possible.

We managed to kill them and take the crate but it took a lot of effort to coordinate a successful attack while keeping them under fire from across the road. Hopefully DICE will sort this out before the game is released.

I saw this too and I'm almost certain this is an exploit. I'm not sure how that can be accomplished since when you throw one box your last one disappears. So they must have figured out a way to make the boxes stick around that was not intended.

But hey this what betas are for.

I didn't realise that your last one dissapeared when you put a new one down. I thought they must be just be spamming boxes. I'm starting to see more and more people doing it to gain loads of points as well.

My solution to this would be that you would have to re-arm/heal individuals by going up to each player and holding a button rather than just chucking boxes.

I know this is a beta and the point is to find problems like this but its still really annoying for the rest of us who just want to play a fair game.

From what I've heard, it works nearly the same as the ammo/med hubs worked in BF2142. I never had a problem with those...

That's more the map design's fault than the ammo boxes themselves.

but i doubt 100% of the maps will be perfect in that regard. BC2 will probably also have its share of corridor like spots, high activity bottlenecks, and other places that will have to be frequently traveled through where people will undoubtedly set up their ammo boxes and spam away into. not to mention objective locations where one guy will just spam nades into the bomb objective to prevent it from being defused/armed.

That may be, but I don't think it will cause unbalanced gameplay, or is serious enough an issue to warrant them changing fundamentally how ammo boxes work.

imo those ammo boxes shouldn't even resupply grenades. they should only resupply gun ammunition. if you're gonna have a bunch of ammo in a box that size, there really isn't space for a bunch of grenades.

i just want to see the day when BF is nade spam free and that means stopping these ammo boxes from giving one the power to equip him and others with unlimited # of nades (theoretically).
