Because people don't play like they would in real life, and because the game is not designed to simulate real life, the grenade launchers should not simulate the actual damage they would cause in real life.
Well, with further playing I think grenades are actually just about right. I thought they were too weak originally but the more I play the more I like the way they did them. And when you take in account the more precise controls of a PC they should translate pretty well as is.
how is the resupply rate when you are next to ammo hub/bag? is it like a hub in 2142 where you can stay next to it and it automatically resupplies or is it like BF2 where you pick it up and it disappears?

It's like 2142. You drop a box and anyone around it slowly regenerates their ammo. From memory I'd say it regenerates about as fast 2142's does. But I haven't played 2142 in a while so take that for what it's worth.
You can only drop one box at a time. If you drop another one the last one you dropped disappears. There is a small cooldown between each time you drop one but it's pretty short.
realism should be a censored word on these forums...
Being the devil's advocate, in terms of speaking of weapons modeled off their real world counter-parts comparison to realism is relevant. Sort of like saying a sling shot shooting arrows should be acceptable because it is a game. If you model something based off real life it should some what reflect what it does in real life.
That being said I am happy with the way GLs work currently.
so is there any "plop down ammo box, spam nades into bottleneck areas"?
maybe BC2 won't have any bottleneck areas?
There won't be any bottleneck areas. There's always several options on which way to go. If you can't go through them then you can always make your own route with a heavy weapon such as a rocket/grenade launcher, tank, etc
