    Bf2 was a really heavy game that time ago. and of course bfbc2 seems that it will be a heavy game too, but technologie has advanced.. it is a new game with a new engine, what makes you people think that it will have the exact same errors, bugs, and bad things that bf2 had.... its just like the dolphin diving thing -_- ....
    Happy 2010 to you too :) but the same problem was present in bf1942 and BF2 and to some extent in BF2142 ... and that problem is not the only one that is present in all DICE games on PC. So ... from my point of view end experience with DICE games all I can say is that they are not capable to overcome some problems adequately. That does not make DICE incompetent or their games bad. It simply means that some problems are present on PC Battlefield games for more than 8 years. These problems are still not addressed properly just made less obvious.

    Whats more ... they are well aware of these problems and no word on those in new engine are published. All we know that there will be no prone action. If solving problems in DICE is done by a principle: "If feature is not working OK then eliminate that feature" then ... who knows what feature will be eliminated next.

    Don't get me wrong ... I'm not against prone action ... I was also infuriated by it until I learned how to deal with it ... Now I have just two problems with prone action: bad hit boxes and players that think that insta-prone is some kind of proof of their skills.

    yeah and the others, dont comment me back saying: "has u zaid it iz a beta" .

    i know it is a beta and it has a lot of more errors and bugs, but from other things ive seen, and from the "arcadish" and fast placed style they want to give to it, i wouldnt be surprised u will actually be able to stand and revive.4
    Another thing i dont like its how fast is the animation of reviving and changing ur weapon from firing, to grenade launcher mode is.

    Ok, its just an opinion from someone wich is waiting for bf3 too, but i think that if they wanted to make a good game for pc, they should fix things like that. a pc its not a console, and i hope they just dont port it from the consoles. ( i do trust dice because they never disapointed me, has i sayed its just an opinion)

    Problem is that players with higher ping (lag) register that you have changed to prone position so late that you already achieved maximum accuracy and killed them. To that player it looks like you shoot him the moment you touched the floor and that is the problem with BF games so far when it comes to prone action.

    So ... no prone or 5 sec penalty in my case.

    ps. messed up hit boxes only add to this problem in case of BF2

    Absolute Zero said an FPS, not anything specific to Battlefield. Rainbow 6 is a FPS that works without prone, but of course it's not Battlefield.

    Removing prone isn't going to get rid of macros, and it's already possible to make dolphin diving/prone spamming ineffective without removing prone, like a delay or accuracy penalty for going prone.

    Heh, w/e people that are good at the game will adapt, those that whined about prone diving will whine about crouching, or some other tactic anyway. Then the Devs will listen to them and make simple and simpler games for the masses of mediocre players.

    If I was a better player, I would probably care more. However, as official 21CW Bullet Magnet, I can tell you that hiding, running, jumping, flying, whatever makes no difference. I die just as quickly. Make the game stable with reasonable framerates, and I'll be happy :thumbsup:

    Personally when I played BC1 (which is obviously the best comparison you can make between games here), I did not feel any serious need for prone. You play the game as it is and you learn to adapt... and if its anything like BC1 there is more than enough cover regardless of the fact that almost everything is destructible.

    If you check out the various Battlefield forums I think you'll find that there are a lot of console players who want prone in as well. Just because we play on a console doesn't automatically mean we want a more casual game.

    I have to agree with you that I don't understand why people are making such a fuss over dolphin diving as it was only an issue in BF2.

    @L-iNC
    How would going prone make it more difficult to aim in the distance? Surely its the same if your crouching and aiming in the distance? Also I've never had a problem sniping targets that are little dots in the distance on a console. Yes I agree that a mouse and keyboard is better and more accurate than a controller but after using a controller for a while now to play FPS you can get pretty good at it (I used to be really against using a controller for FPS and only started playing FPS on a console because BF came out on the PS3). Even tho it might take a little bit longer to take aim, practically everyone has the same controller and so has the same disadvantage. Unlike on PC where people have different mice and keyboards with more buttons, macros, etc and also different systems, graphics cards, etc therefore giving some people an advantage over others.
