So if the DICE devs increased AT rocket damage to choppers, what would you think of this?

What does it matter that you can't alter the rocket's path if it's going fast enough for that not to be relevant? Then people will just rocket snipe everything, including pads.

If you're going to tell me that team play and cooperation would solve the aforementioned, you have my answer to why your proposed AT modifications are unnecessary.

Mods, seriously, just close this thread already.

Any one that thinks choppers are balanced, go play 2142, the air power on that game is perfectly balanced and makes bf2s look idiotic.

Ps. before people say it, I know the problems regarding eu gunship raping pac and the mess up with only 1 pac gunship spawning etc. But the point still stands, overall as an infantry or vehicle player in 2142 you actually stand a chance.

I actually don't mind the attack helis on Sharqi because of how many humvees there are and how many places there are to hide them, and even the .50 on the tanks work fine in a pinch (although tanks are usually the first thing the gunners go for with a TV). I wouldn't have a problem with them on normal maps either were it not for the fact that if you're sitting in the gunner position in a buggy or truck you are jet pilot fodder. I actually find it a miracle when I'm able to drive from one flag to the next on most maps even in an FAV without getting vulcan-strafed or bombed before I get there. I was playing Zatar the other day, there was a smoking cobra shooting at the infantry just north of our flag, so I hop into the AA and fire immediately (as in, not even waiting for a lock), and before I can even get the second missile off, I get strafed by the F35. WAY too easy to get smeared in an AA station, especially since a jet can see you from a mile away. If AA wasn't, as someone else called it, just a suicide chair then the air balance might be fine. Unfortunately, all means of taking out a chopper usually just make you a sitting duck for jets. Thus why I thought having AT missiles do more damage to them would work.

Seeing as I practically always fly unopposed for reasons of skill and skill alone, I theoretically welcome the challenge that such an alteration to the game mechanics would offer; I resist on principle, something that a lot of you are apparently willing to whore out whenever it becomes convenient to do so.

On a more pragmatic note, I couldn't care less about your proposed modifications since I barely play the game anymore, and the likelihood of such changes coming about are almost nil. I'm just here to entertain myself and educate a few of you, that's all...

The problem with BF2 is, you have these high ranking players who are extremely good, and you have your average players who have been playing for a while and are pretty good, and then you have your BF noobs who aren't very good. So it's not fair when one team is stacked with extremely good and average players and the other with average and noob players get raped by a couple of good pilots on the other team.

It's not fair that you can fire two AA missiles at a jet and then have them dodge both easily, turn around and strafe your gun position before you missiles even have a chance to reload.
Thank you for making my point for me, and in such a delicious manner.

Or even if you by some miracle happen to hit with BOTH missiles, the damn jet will just turn around and drop a quick burst on your face before he is even in the missile range. It's a joke, AA shouldn't be a suicide chair. How can anyone say it's balanced now?

By all means, keep reducing the skill necessary to use vehicles and weapons. Either you're going to make it even easier for the skilled players to dominate you by way of eliminating advanced techniques no longer applicable to the game, or you're going to place everybody on even footing, which takes all of the fun out of it.

Like I said, focus on improving the average player's skill and things will begin to look up.
Nerfing? Buffing AA to level where air/land combat is more balanced (instead of total air domination) isn't nerfing. You sound like a chopper whore who's afraid that he can't no longer 110% dominate the game with chopper?

If the choppers get nerfed, they will become utterly useless on maps with jets. It's already too easy for a jet to just shoot a chopper down with its machine gun. If your team is getting raped by an attack chopper, it's not because the chopper is too strong or the pilot is too good. It's because your team sucks and no one is in squads using teamwork. In bf2, anything can be accomplished with enough teamwork.

Sadly, most pubs have less than half of the players in squads and even those in squads just don't have a clue how to work together. Thus, it's so easy for a jet or chopper to rape the entire team when everyone is just running around with different motives in mind...

Plus, DICE has only nerfed things in the past because noobs can't play the game with teamwork, instead of telling whiners to STFU and learn how to play cooperatively.
