Here in Denmark bandwith caps are almost unheard of as long as you use some form of wired internet. There may be a cap for "unreasonable" usage, but otherwise only 3G/EDGE/GPRS connections come with a CAP.

So the question is if unlimited bandwith isnt likely to be mainstream before Blu-ray drives?

And I could also imagine the possbility of people with poor connections downloading at an Internet Cafe, or maybe a Game store.
I am currently carrying around a 16 GB usb stick in my keychain, but the way prices are changing 64 GB will drop to the same price in a year or two. And then you can have a blu-ray and a couple of DVDs in you pocket.

Same, most people here have unlimited downloads, only cheaper packages have data limits on them. Anyone tech savvy enough to play a computer game usually has a unlimited connection (although not necessarily the fastest).

Blu Ray will take a while, the costs have to come down a lot and the performance of burners increase

DVDs ain't going anywhere for a while tbh

I argree, nobody in their right mind is going to pay an extra $40 for a better graphic game when they can put it on "uber" graphic settings and be happy with it. Though the extra information capable would be very pretty.

It's not a case of throwing it on Blu-Ray will give it better graphics. The good thing really is that Blu-Ray is ready and waiting when games fill up DVDs and game devs need more space. The technology is already there so devs will only be limited by how many people have the drives not that the software makers are ahead of the hardware developers.

someone mentioned mini-disc players....i actually have one and still use it. They record really well, and are small enough to take anywhere. If you can find a decent mic, you can bootleg concerts with them effectively and effeciently. :)

If anything we may start saying games released on blu-ray, but that's just more of a testament to the charades that have became pc gaming.
