^Yeah, dat. Many people say the full version is much better.
But I have also heard that the full version is a version or so behind the demo version. Like the demo version has options to change the anti-alising while the the full version doesn't.

On steam the version numbers are currently:
Full 1.02.58136
Demo 1.02.58127
And the full version has the option to change AA.
So far I havent really noticed any difference, but there is a lot more servers to choose from in the full version.

They are actually compatible. You can play on the same sever using either patch. One is an 'updated' 1.02 patch which i dont understanf why BI release, but they did. In anycase you can play on the same server with whichever as long as it 1.02.
I am 42 Year OLD FART gamer compared to most of you.
I have always been a Battlefield and BF2 lover, and played some COD 4 as well as Americas Army and recently AA3 = which is a disappoint 4 me.
Why, I expected it to have vehicles and be more realistic.
If realism is you're thing then this is you're NEW game!!!
I am so mad at myself, because I downloaded ARMA 1 and gave up quickly because the movements were nothing like I had used b4. So I gave up!
BIG mistake. Now Arma 2 is here and I am sure many will do the same.
Download the demo and take you're time and experiment.
If you get bummed out, look at some youtube videos to see the real potential of this game.
It should not even be called a FPS game! It does it a dis-service.
This is a First&3rd person RTS Military simulation GAME!!!!!!
I still have the demo ATM but in a week or so I will have the FULL version and this will be my only game!
I agree that the User Interface and some controls are not comfortable or clunky. But what game isn't when it first comes out?! Furthermore, the support seems to be better than BF2, the game has'nt even been out a month and there are already 1 or 2 patches..
I have been laid off for several months and start a new job on monday. I plan to get fully into this game after getting paid.....
This is not a run and GUN game!!!!
If you want that garbage, u still have CS, COD4, Combat Arms and 2 dozen other games to play.
Realsim and teamplay is what I have been looking for for years.
I always wished for a combination between BF2 and AA and I think I have found it!
That being said...I am a total newb to this game series and would appreciate any input from anyone who has played.
Please add me to You're Xfire.... brucealmightyy
AKA as BruceALMIGHTYY, QuestBLACK and BRUCE_Bruce
Hope to make some new friends in this game.
WHAT....these graphics are incredible! Maybe u have grown accustomed to graphics that look more cartooinsh, no insult...I am just saying, they have a different look than say BF2 of COD4...OMG what about the transition of day to night, weather changes...
So much more complex on SO MANY LEVELS!
I think I can agree with you mostly. i was like u. But, after watching several videos of this game, I decided I have to LEARN the game.
You are probably a REALLY GOOD FPS player like many others are too.
Then, you play this and you feel like a fish out of water.
Same here. But, its just SO DAMN COOL!...lol
And you know what, I don't think REAL combat is glamorous at all.
The majority of time is waiting around for orders. But, thats a whole other topic on mission editors of which I know NOTHING about....
Agreed
Stilla Killa.....thats funny!
I actually like the actual in game voice stating where enemies are and such, gave me a more feel of realism.
I DO AGREE the training voices are BIG TIME GAY!!!!...lol
When U first start off you RUN to a Black Guy who sounds like John Malkovich!...lol...WTF!
And you're character COOPER! He sounds like the Gay Construction worker from the Village People.. I'd like to try the AT RANGE SIR!...LOL
COOPER is a HOMO!
DID anyone else look for ever for the freaking BOX to get you're gun...STOOPID!
Thank Good ness I completed that stuff.................
Thats what this game appeals to...Open minded people like me.
Sure, I like BF and COD, but it gets old FAST, especially COD4!
That got OLD really fast for me. All the maps are relatively the same size.
NO teamwork, run and gun.
Hey Stilla, add me to you're Xfire. brucealmightyy
I need some Arma 2 buds, u seem sorta like me...
GREAT NEWS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You can ALL go play BATTLEFIELD HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............lol
There is you're arcade mickey mouse warfare game...
What a piece of CRAP!
OH?....GOOD Graphics RIGHT....lol
Yea, easy to make, so called GOOD graphics with lucky charms meets Scooby DOO Graphics.....
The big question is, should I pick the game up this weekend?
It depends. If you are on a budget and are stuck the next 6 months with whatever game you buy, then I would say no. The game is definitely an acquired taste, and you may not like it.
But if you can afford to take a chance on a game that you may not like, then I think you should go for it. Especially if you don't see other intersting releases in the near future.
Like I said before, I think it has lots of potential, and I also like the idea of supporting developers that try something different.
Do I like it or not? I cant really make up my mind. One one hand it has an unnecessarily steep learning curve, on the other hand I keep having this feeling that a great gaming experience is just around the corner.
Well it is either Arma2 or Call of Juarez:Bound In Blood.
I don't know the Call of Juarez series, but I can see that it is multi platform, so I expect multiplayer to be Halo-COD like. Do you want it for MP or SP?
In my opinion it is important to get in on MP games while they are fresh, because you will be hopelessly outskilled if you join a year after everybody else.
SP games, on the other hand, can be bought when they are 1-2 years old. Then they will be on sale, and you are more likely to have a system that can run them at max settings.
Arma will likely provide you with hundreds of hours of gaming if you like it.
CoJ looks like a sure bet that will give you 20 hours of SP and maybe the same in MP.
But only you can decide, I think the gameplay in the demo gives an accurate impression of the gameplay in the full version.
