Re: BF: Bad Company 2 Multiplayer aspect discussion
Actually Gordon said the maps are not yet determined. So it might be more than 8. Ohh and remember, each map has different levels to it. Gordon told us at the EA UK forums that each map will have different levels. For Ex.
Map: Atacama
Levels: Rush, Conquest, other modes(unknown)
Each map will have different levels or game modes. Each level will have different border lines or game area you can play on. So Conquest might take most of the map, Rush will take a smaller area most likely. Other game modes will be located in different areas of the map. If you think about it, we will have a lot to play on. Each level will be different, so I'm sure we won't bored quick.

Couldn't care less about those, but what about HUD. It's full of useless **** ruining the immersion.
There's ammo and grenade count, minimap, players in your squad and this thing on the top that shows who's winning and who has what flags. That's not much at all really and a stupid thing to whine about, even BF2 and the other BF's have a much more cluttered view.
The symbols that show the direction of flags and similar are rather discrete personally and not a problem at all.
Sorry for bad image quality, youtube screen cap lol.
And I do hope they increase the field of view for the PC version, at least make it optional.

having never played BC, what exactly is this "Rush" mode? and i heard it is preferred over conquest. is that true?
It's a progressive attack/defence mode. Attackers have to plant bombs in certain areas (in BC1, it was gold crates) and defenders had to stop them and defuse the bombs.
In each section of the map, there would be 2 sites that needed to bomb and when those 2 sites were destroyed, the map moved forward onto the next area. There's usually around 3 areas on a map to go through.

Useless stuff like "YOU ARE WINNING, AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE TICKETS RIGHT BELOW", names glowing on HUD because consoles can't check squads by pressing caps lock like BF2, and enemy vehicles/friendly vehicles have a stupid image bigger than the vehicle thus covering it up so you can't see what you are even shooting.
It's just full of BS. DICE thinks console people can't realize the difference between which number is bigger, so they stuff up the HUD with useless text taking away the immersion from the game.
Look at 1:25 and forward where he gets killed and throw his weapon up in the air while falling to the ground. Gotta admit that was a very nice touch, in general DICE have always been good with animations personally.
Re: BF: Bad Company 2 Multiplayer aspect discussion
i'm kinda glad that BC2 will have the COD like 1 button for knife stab/put away and grenade toss. it was kind of a hassle to pull out knife/nades and then go back to your primary weapons, often hitting the wrong key and pulling out another item. automatically going back to your weapon will definitely prevent more deaths.
that also means we won't be seeing those knife whores running at people with their knives pulled out. or nade spammers hopping around holding a nade. :)
