In BC1, aircraft weren't as horribly overpowered in BF2. AA was really effective and even standard infantry weapons could damage them, albeit slowly.

They had aircrafts in BC1? I thought all you could fly were helicopters.

Re: BF: Bad Company 2 Multiplayer aspect discussion

I think part of the problem with Jets in BF2 is the map size. The modern jet is incredibly fast and has very effective weaponry compared to those from the second world war which were a lot slower and the weaponry wasn't as effective. The problem with Battlefield is that the map size didn't really change in relation to the change in jets speed and firepower. This means it was very easy for a pilot to cover the whole map while causing massive amount of destruction between reloads.

So my solution to this would be to increase the map size (and probably player count). This would mean that jets would have to cover a larger amount of area and would be less effective. This in turn would make it safer for players to control armour/infantry on the ground without the fear of being constantly bombed all the time.

The only other solution I can think of would be to make the AA so effective it would only be the best pilots who could stay in the skies for a decent amount of time. This would however make it unfair on beginners who want to learn how to fly.

I believe this best represents the solution for BF2 "air rape", bigger maps and more players.

The AA in BC, was terribly overpowered imo. I'd sit on the AA in oasis and destroy buildings, vehicals, infantry, and boom. But at least it was effective against Aircraft.

Lets just hope the snipers aren't ridiculously overpowered.

Thanks for posting the vid I hadn't seen that before. The game looks fun.

The only thing I'm dissapointed about is the killcam. I'm against them as I don't see the point in them other than giving away the position of the player that killed you.

TBH this looks the same. I'm only waiting for this game because its going to be on PC.

Yeah I am waiting for this primarily for the PC even though it looks similar.

I'm excited for BC2, but really I don't know what to expect, especially single player.

destructible body parts would be nice. of course, make it an option.

Now the question is, will the field of view be more than 60 degrees on the PC version?
