I seriously must have a different patch?!?

Nothing seems any different, except a new map (which I think will be ALOT better in BF2142) and another server joining bug.

Dolphin diving is going on, hitboxes are still a joke and overall the game still feels like the same old mess that the past few patches have made it.

what kinda ping are you playing with


I sniped a guy at like 300 feet with one shot when i played, that rarely happens to me


I did get booted of the server for no reason after like 10 mins of playing tho

Now that you don't have a j10 to complain about, you guys are onto the AA :shakehead:.

those are both the very same problem. i was always pissed about the aa. it was never about how nimble the fighter was, it was about the corkscrew throwing locked on missiles off. this scenario would happen time and time again. i am in a j10, i get locked on, i start a corkscrew, his missiles would fly right up to my turbine exhaust and then simply peel off. that's what i have always been upset over, and made me stop playing. not how nimble or sluggish any one jet was.

What possessed EA to remove the kick messages (as to why you were kicked)?

I guess they wanted to have the final laugh and make sure I couldn't connect to any decent server...well if that's the case I'm not buying EA

so you want the return of the gunship helicopter that cant be taken down? do you not remember the immortal transport heli squads of engineers and medics? transport helis are fine, they can avoid everything except jets and attack helis. which is how things should work. the transport heli is just that, not a fighting vehicle. how about instead of re-breaking the transport heli, how about fixing the mother #$%@*^& AA missiles so the transport heli can have proper air support? its ridiculous that after all this time, AA missiles can still fly right up to the nimble fighters and then simply veer off course. thats the only thing keeping this game from being great, and yes it does ruin the game. except for non jet maps.

Yup, you found me out. How'd you guess? By "Reasonably increase armor OR guns on BlackHawk and all transport helicopters", I meant make it an extreme killing machine for my leet desires. You even left out capitalization and proper format to really sell the idea.

It's NOT EA. It's DICE which builds this patch. EA owns DICE and are just publishing their games!

Just saying, the transport helicopters have no problem dealing with infantry from a far and with air support they can easily make it to their destination, what more do you need?

Installed it and couldn't join any servers. Re installed bf2 and now on 1.41

Well after reading through this thread it appears they may have fixed the 2 reasons that caused me to stop playing .


Downloading the new patch now to see how it is for myself now

What good is a beta if you can't even play the damn game to give feedback.

I have been trying for 40 minutes to join a game and it just won't do it.

It loads the map up and i join the room and before i even get to pick a weapon it takes me straight back to the server menu

It isn't giving me any Punkbuster errors or anything either.

Is there some trick or way round these things to join games?

I guess this is the reason there are no full 1.5beta servers

If the new map had one blackhawk on the usmc side, it would be forty-five times better.

I think this may be a good solution to help the US get off the land.

Everything takes longer now,from clicking the shortcut to loging in, def connecting to servers. Slow slow slowslow

- Sniping is Effective. Which may actually mess up all those practice of hours of taking bullet lag into consideration each time.
-The J10 isn't as elusive as the Loch Ness
- Hitboxes are actually where the model of the character is. Freaking Amazing.
- AA isn't very effective, which is ok, because it's a no skill weapon anyways. Just point and shoot. Leave jet take downs to other pilots, the gifted TV Guiders, and those fluke LAW shots.
- New map has more fog than the South of England in November.
- No more dolphin diving ensures that the asshats will no doubt have to evolve to the latest exploitable move which from what I've seen, and heard has not been found yet. (If you know of one I'd like to hear it)


All in all its a great way to stoke interest back in BF2. From othergeneral gaming forums I've read the people who play BF2 are getting back into it again.
