I cannot really say I hate a specific thing about the game until it comes out but I will say I wish they added a 4th class with a bar or some fully automatic rifle.

-.- some folk....honestly have no clue
wow...where is my retard stamp for you.

If we wait for the game to be released before we say what is wrong with it then there will be no time to fix it and we will be stuck with it. At this early stage in the games developement there is still time for changes to be made before release.

Obviously that concept is too much for your small brain to comprehend.

also in one of the videos you can see grenades reloading.....so yes you have unlimited grenades and it only takes 5 seconds to reload! 2 nades every 5 seconds! bring on the nade spam.

most likely same for rockets and noobtubes too.

You complaining before a game is released i doubt will change very much.
Many things on games sound bad from the outside, but once experienced works very well.

          Let me give some examples:

Instant spawn on cod4 on Team death match
No shooting whilst jumping in BF2
Terribly weak minigun on black hawk in BF2
To not be able to move quickly whilst using iron sight on BF2.
To need to stay stationary (prone or crouch) as support kit on BF2.
A class that can bring back people from the dead. (medic's revive.) This is hugely overpowered on infantry only. But it works.

These sound HORRIBLE from the outside. But they do work. They work very well. This shows that you cannot discredit everything when you have not experienced the game.

Sure you can try, but i am sure the BF1943 experience will not be exactly as you percieve it now.

its not just me complaining (not that my orginal post is complaining...its constructive criticism) but the majority of BF players....90% of the posts i read and comments on bf1943 articles are saying the same things as i am. just take a look on the 1943's dev blog comments http://www.gustavhalling.com .

i've played a lot of games to have a good idea of what these changes will do to the game, and creating a more simple "casual, focused and accessible" game is not something that is a step up for the battlefield series. The more depth a game has the longer it will remain fun and fresh.

The examples you gave are minor compared to the ones at the start of this thread and i wouldn't even have complained about some. also "No shooting whilst jumping in BF2" and "Terribly weak minigun on black hawk in BF2" sound HORRIBLE from the outside and were HORRIBLE as they were negative changes for BF2. The "not being able to jump and shoot" fix broke the netcode badly and made it so we couldn't shoot missiles overthings or dive over walls shooting etc. The blackhawk fix made it go from being an overpowered vehicle that people TKed for, to a rarely used vehicle on maps like Mashtuur/Songhua.

DICE say they listen to the community and read the forums so you dont know this wont make a difference, i've posted lots of feedback for the BFH beta and that feedback has made a difference in that game so i do have some faith in DICE to listen.

You say you are an experienced gamer. If so then you will agree on this post:

              Unlimited ammo

For guns this is not a problem, it is good. It will help infantry again on a heavy vehical server. It has not been confirmed whether grenades or rockets will be unlimited ammo.
For planes I assume you have not played BF1942. Planes on there had 20bombs each. But the reload time was quite long. Also bomb radius is much smaller. It was balanced on BF1942 so what suggests it will be imbalanced on 1943?

              3 classes:

Again same as before, three classes will make infantry more able to fight vehicals than 6classes. This is good because infantry often suffer greatly against vehicals.

The flag thing sounds crap. But it is unconfirmed whether it can be toggled on and off.
What are your thoughts? Please justify your opinions.

Re: The things i hate about Battlefield 1943

wow, waited a long time for a bf1942 remake with better graphics, destructibility, tweaks, squads, and other goodie updates. I predict this is going to be one experiment which will fail horribly on the pc.

From all the trailers i have seen it seems that 12 vs 12 is just not enough. One of my favorite things to do in bf1942 was just ride around in a jeep and watch the chaos and epic battles unfold all around me. It was a different sight everytime. I cant do that in this game, half the team will be waiting for the vehicles/planes to spawn while the other 6 are trying to capture flags. Its going to feel very empty. I hope those maps are smaller then they look. its like playing cod....not even. Bf1943 isn't battlefield. They haven't done anything like this in the past, all the past battlefield games have been successes, some more than others. I can't figure out why they would change the formula.

I understand its for the consoles and mainstream gamers but seriously who hasn't heard of battlefield by now. Mainstream gamers aren't retarded, i think the thought of having 64 players, vehicles, mix of arcade and realism, and all that other great stuff would be more appealing to the average gamer then having everything we have in bf1943. Bf1942 and bf2 are epic, knowing you're a small fish in a big pond who can make a difference and turn the tide of the battle by working together on multiple fronts. I sense the opposite, a run n' gun, with bf1943 and its scaring me. Also, the reason people come to hate on ww2 is cause the same stuff is being churned out, cod, dod, bob. Battlefield was suppose to revolutionize, take the next step, and scripted destructible environments is just not enough.

Why even experiment with something thats not broken. Having 128 players on a single server is an experiment, having 24 players is an excuse. They single handedly destroyed a potential, and hardcore, battlefield game set in ww2. I personally prefer that era over modern and future stuff, and i was hoping the next big battlefield would be a ww2 one. If you're going to experiment with something, do it with another theme, dont do that to ww2. And if you are, don't call it battlefield.

I hope they're reading our concerns. Lol, bf1942 was my first pc game and i play i still play it. No other game blew me away like it did, and no other ww2 game was as satisfying. I hope they seriously reconsider and not release this game on the pc at all, i would rather have them make the proper sequel to bf1942 and release it 2yrs down the road. I haven't seen much optimism for this game anywhere and it's obvious why. This game looks fun and i will buy it for my 360 but you need something for the ol' fans.

My thoughts are like in the orginal post:

Great classes like the medic have been removed cutting off whole great teamplay and battlefield moments. For example some of the best moments i've had on battlefield games are times when wounded teammates are requesting a medic after a firefight, you give them a "roger that" to show you coming to help and then make your way to each other dodging incomming fire and heal them up, then getting a "thanks" afterwards and continuing the fight. Things like that are what make a battlefield game great.

                    3) Auto health regeneration. Like the reason above but also it takes away the tension of a fight having your health regenerate instead of being wounded and knowing your at more of a risk. Its much more fun having medics to heal you, picking up a medic kit to heal yourself or at least having a medical cabinet like in BFV.

                    4) Unlimited ammo. I've read 100's of comments from people hating this and i have to agree. This is dumbing the game down way too much even for the casual gamer. With no support class to resupply you why not at least have limited ammo but with ammo supply boxes around the map like in BF1942? Having unlimited ammo is just going to make no one care about aiming as much, allowing you to just camp and constantly spay at enemy with no need to be conservative about your shots or fear of being in a low ammo situation and having to move out to resupply/take an enemys kit. I hope nades/rockets etc are not unlimited too!
however i will add that yes BF2 medic was a bit overpowered in infantry only as it was the most universal class, same guns as assault but the great ability to heal and revive. anti-tank and engi were no longer needed but BF2 was never designed to be infantry only. On a vehicle server then medic was useless against vehicles and had to stick with and rely on his teammates to take them out. Was the medic class overpowered in bf1942? no they had worse guns than assault and fit in with the game well.
I play Cod5 a lot also which is a fun game but it has regen health and it lacks the teamplay and diversity of the battlefield experience.

Unlimited bullet ammo wont help inf against vehicles, and from the videos you can now see grenades etc are unlimited with an extremely short 5 second reload time! yes i played bf42, and having limited bombs in all the BF games was much better as the pilot does have to put some thought into conserving his bombs as when he runs out he would have to go fly back to base and slowly fly by the runway to reload putting him at a risk and giving the enemy team time to get out when pinned down. Now in BF1943 i could just fly in loops high above enemy AA range constantly spamming bombs at there flag with no care. Bomb radius doesnt matter too much to expert pilots as there bombs will always hit on target, the AA will be the first thing to go :)

I'm a big inf player myself and sure its nice that everyone can take down vehicles but being so at the expense of classes it removes a whole teamwork aspect. Looks like i wont have those great battlefield moments like in previous BF games where i'm pinned down as a medic by a tank, i spot the tank and call in air support only for a team mate in a plane to give me a roger that, seconds later he dives in and takes it out allowing me to take the flag :)
In this game i dont need teamwork...i'll just spam fire my unlimited rockets at the tank and hide to regen my health lol....

Oh and the flag warning thing is crap and was only made an option in a BFV patch after everyone was moaning they wanted to turn it off. Judging from the rest of the changes i'm sure it will be on in this game and have no option to turn off.
