He does have a point in regards to the camping as a result of unlimited ammunition. I'm hopeful that DICE has effectively eliminated this possibility during the early development phases though...

DICE has a lot more employees now than it had when developing one single game at a time. This means that we are able to make more games, and still deliver strong quality games with the entertainment value that has kept people playing the Battlefield series for so many years.
is that why its taken years for battlefield 3 to come out?

i mean you guys can release a ton of console games and what not, but when it comes down to the real question of battlefield 3,

        theres nothing to be said..
you know what..i think you guys are not building battlefield 3 because your going console on us!!!

i don't even know if new games like heroes and 1943 should be called "battlefield" games. it's like calling backyard baseball game a MLB game.

Re: DICE, Your confusing the hell out of me.

It seems to me that it isn't the fact that DICE are branching out that pisses people off. It's the fact that they seem to be "moving on."
They are in the position of being able to hire more people and have some creative freedom because of the money people like us spent on 1942/BF2/2142. Then they say "Well, thanks I guess. Oh, look. We can make more money on consoles and don't even have to worry about mod support. Shiny!"
Remember all of the Wii hate from long-time Nintendo fans when it became clear N was more concerned with exploiting Grammy's social security checks than they were about making the games that made them such a success in the first place? Here you are.
Designing good PC games just doesn't make sense when they can make way more money shoveling crap to console owners with few real options in the first place.

In this particular case, I'm more pissed at DICE for their decisions than I am at TreyArch for their ineptitude. You can't really be mad at a loser for losing. But you can be furious at a winner for not even trying!

i like BF:H alot, its a funny different BF thats good to have a laugh and pass sometime without worries, but that ends there, BF:H is enough, we dont need another limited BF game.

pirelli should remember that us "fanboys" (like he said before in another thread), are the ones they have to thank for being where they are today, in a world filled with CS and COD fanatics, anyone that plays BF should be considered a fanboy.

they are simplifying the game way too much, what the hell is that no server selection thing

RIP battlefield:dead:,Id rather leave now if this is the case and remember battlefield for what it was,I was not happy with many feature on bf2 eg.stats, arty and other things that i could see the game turning into a stupid fast paced game for the kiddies.

Now its all come true and they can turn this into some sort of steven seagull trilogy fail on their own:nod:.

And be happy they are coming out with games AT ALL - especially with astonishing games like Bad Company - during these horrible economic times.

if we can be happy of something is to have food on our tables, video games are not a necessity, video games still need to be good to make some moneh.

we cant be happy with everything they throw at us, we are the ones who pay for the games, if they want us to give them money, they need to make us happy.

i dont even ask much, i only ask for 32 players and free DLC after the game is released.

Then why didn't the sales of Bad Company(360/ps3) surpass that of Battlefield 2(pc) in the first year? Why is Battlefield 2 still a popular game, while Bad Company is hardly played online? Not many people play Bad Company today. I remember the first few weeks were pretty busy, but everyone just dropped the game like a bad habit. Battlefield 2 had/has a wider appeal, much more wider than you think.

I am sorry to be negative about this, but I and many others are tired of publishers and developers making games that they think we will enjoy, instead of making games that we ask for. Shelling out flavor of the week games and slapping the Battlefield sticker on them isn't going to please fans. Save that for the Wii community.

When Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising releases, you think PC gamers are going to choose Battlefield Bad Cartoon 2 over that? You are going to lose a large fanbase.

But that's like saying you didn't get enough icing on the cake even though you worked really freaking hard to get that cake in the first place. (Bakery was crowded and you only had 5$).

I know some people are judging these new games unfairly but as fans and customers of a great series we should let Dice know what we want. I'm worried the features that made the series great are being reduced. I consider 32 players the minimum for a good BF2 match and prefer 48-64. Sure, the 16 player game is fun but not on the same level as a large scale battle. Custom servers rule-bad browsers don't. If Dice does take the series to the next level with destructible environments and the games retain epic, Battlefield style gameplay they might be good. Oh, mods rule too. They're usually much more interesting and fun than expansion packs.

I'll give them a shot. I'll keep an open mind. But if its not what I'm looking for then I'll be playing games like Armed Assault 2 or Delta Force: Angel's Fall.

Go slurp your borchst, commie. If they're going to release games at all, they should do it right. The essence of capitalism is that we don't have to like it when people try and sell crap. We first let the companies know that it won't be received well, then we vote with our wallets by not buying the game. The current trend has them crying about piracy when the lame game doesn't sell as well as they hoped.

You act like they're giving us something for nothing and we should get down on our knees and thank them. The money we paid for their previous games, the ones we actually liked and want more of, is what pays their salaries in the first place. They are the ones who should do the thanking. So if they want to shovel demos and charge for them they should be prepared to see a lot of backlash.

Dude, whats with the commie remark? :shakehead:

Be Less America land of the free...and start thinking 3D, the worlds not flat...

You said he acts like they're giving us something for nothing, no actually he's respecting the fact that those guys are working their asses off to give you a new game, so why don't you show some respect instead of complaining before you've even played it, better yet, if your gunna moan, go make your own damn game, then it will have everything you want in it wont it....oh no wait...you can't make a game, because you know nothing about that kind of stuff...so before you become the expert on something you don't know, turn on your 3 brain cells and think...hmm...maybe they're doing something for a reason...testing maybe...

You have no right to tell them what YOU want, because YOU isn't a concept, theres an entire world out there that all want different. Your entitled to not like what you've read granted, but you have no right to demand and get what you want.

So no, you should be thanking Dice & EA regardless of what you read or watch, because without them or any other game company, there would be no games for you to p!ss and moan about in the first place...and before i finish, Dice/EA do thank their fans, because your right, they wouldn't be where they are today without us, they do thank us, have you ever thank'd them?

Sorry about that folks, couldn't hold myself, had to be said.

^^ You're missing the point GameArtist. We're paying customers and Dice cares what we think. I agree that the games should be given a chance. I'm trying to keep an open mind. But in the end I won't support the company if the quality of the Battlefield series is reduced. I think its in their best interest to pay attention to the community and at least consider what the hardcore Battlefield fans think about the direction they're headed.
