^^ You're missing the point GameArtist. We're paying customers and Dice cares what we think. I agree that the games should be given a chance. I'm trying to keep an open mind. But in the end I won't support the company if the quality of the Battlefield series is reduced. I think its in their best interest to pay attention to the community and at least consider what the hardcore Battlefield fans think about the direction they're headed.

I 100% agree with you, i'm missing no point, what i'm getting at is people thinking they're owed something when they arn't.

This forum is nothing but a microbe in the world, they do listen to the community, but when theres 12 million different communities i think its going to get a little bit hard.

There was a front story on this site, a feedback video from the release of 1943, at it stated, a different reaction from this forum, says it all, everyone can't be pleased, its not the way the world works, so i say, instead of moaning, just enjoy what you have, because its better than nothing, even if you dont like it, at least you have it.

You said he acts like they're giving us something for nothing, no actually he's respecting the fact that those guys are working their asses off to give you a new game, so why don't you show some respect instead of complaining before you've even played it, better yet, if your gunna moan, go make your own damn game, then it will have everything you want in it wont it....oh no wait...you can't make a game, because you know nothing about that kind of stuff...so before you become the expert on something you don't know, turn on your 3 brain cells and think...hmm...maybe they're doing something for a reason...testing maybe...

You have no right to tell them what YOU want, because YOU isn't a concept, theres an entire world out there that all want different. Your entitled to not like what you've read granted, but you have no right to demand and get what you want.

So no, you should be thanking Dice & EA regardless of what you read or watch, because without them or any other game company, there would be no games for you to p!ss and moan about in the first place...and before i finish, Dice/EA do thank their fans, because your right, they wouldn't be where they are today without us, they do thank us, have you ever thank'd them?

I think you need to re-read my post.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion... People are not entitled to demand and bully others into getting what they want.

My family thank me for putting food on the table and a roof over their heads, its thanks enough, at least i get thanked. And i'm sure the others you pointed out also get thanked for brininging some joy to someones life.

Hopefully all we're seeing is a long term development strategy that is taking Frostbite to a level that can support a full scale, pc optimized Battlefield game. I'm concerned because I've read statments from EA that PC gaming as we know it is dying. They believe its future lies in mini/cross platorm games such as Heroes and 1943 as well as a microtransaction system or pay to play.

Reality check here, those flaming current and announced BF projects that claim they are true fans, whining about realism (oxymoron when applied to games) & teamplay, wanting Medics (99% of you really want it to heal themselves and use it as a deployed health regen when getting shot on the move) and a need to resupply weapons (how many times did you get into a great firefight only to run out of ammo, now you are 99% a dead man walking and lost your flow), complain about everything even if it is what they asked for, and post in these forums or ones like them are the minority. You do not reflect the larger percent of the consumers that will purchase these and future BF games. That is a fact and you need to accept it like I have. Does that mean DICE shouldn't make a successor to BF2 and BF2142, absolutely not, but they won't make it for you specifically if they do.

They'll make it for the other 2+ million that bought it and no longer play it. They also seem to want to make BF type games that appeal to the less serious player and what is wrong with that? You think it slows down the release of your BF game? If you really think that and you know how to run their studio better than them apply for the job, but I doubt any of you (including me) have the know how to run DICE better than the guys right now.

What I'd really like is for those posting about BF(3) to take your thoughts to a different area of the forums because I'm here to learn about BF1943 and not about how much of a whiny school kid you are and see the psychological impact of not being allowed to spank your child unfold before my eyes with such clairvoyance. I'd also like to see the assimilated Forum Mods do their job and manage these forums properly instead of being bandwagon hate spreaders.

I agree with the OP, I hate how DICE is splitting up the Battlefield franchise into these small games, and none of them are exceptional, they can be decent but not truly exceptional like BF1942 and BF2 were.

I hate how EA is leeching the soul out of game franchises, F EA.

And DICE didn't do less harm either, with their million expansion packs, boosters, turbo chargers.... leeching dollar after dollar from you and splitting up the community across different servers.

I loved that game, I am now awaiting Delta Force: Angel Falls which is supposed to support up to 200-players.

If DF:AF is good, it might just be the BF3 of 2009.

I'm in the same boat and with so many BF3 killers coming out in 2009, DF:AF, Operation Flash Point: Dragon Rising, ARMA II, they might just kill the BF franchise.

Ill still buy 1943 as well as BC2, but I still want my "hardcore" Battlefield to return. And it will.......

Trust me they have not forgotten what(PC BF) got them to the position that they hold now. Only good things are coming just wait and see......

In these times of financial unrest id be prepared to bet my left nut the next BF game we are all waiting for does not happen, period.

Fast-buck-console-games, pay-per-play or play-but-get-advertised-to-death games are clearly the only way forward.

If you're running a company in these hard times you will do anything to keep the cash flow ok, this will include churning out games with BF branding all over them in the hope of a sneaky sale to your lower IQ console gamer.

I will TRY before I buy with all these titles! So I can see just how much I saved by not buying yet another ported or blagged game.

PC gaming is not looking good, I suggest we all go out any buy a racket and take up tennis,..... at least my Dominos bill will be reduced along with my wasteline.
