    Battlefield 1943 Pacific

    Saw this http://www.jeuxactu.com/article-3518...3-pacific.html

    and translated
    http://translate.google.com/translat...istory_state0=

While the first images of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 are still waiting, Electronic Arts and DICE have announced a new variation of the Battlefield license, which will operate the latest version of the Frostbite engine: Battlefield 1943 Pacific. This umpteenth FPS on the Pacific will allow players s'étriper social Conquest mode on three of the most famous maps of Battlefield 1942: Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Wake Island. Destructible buildings, vehicles flying, rolling or floating, the worshipers of the series will not be at home but frankly can unwind in the idyllic scenery, galvanized by the soft roar of 23 other angry. Hostilities begin this summer on X360 and PS3.
there's another link, but it's not working for me atm

Says it's on 360, PS3 and PC, apparently

I can't verify authenticity, so take it with a grain of salt.... but.. uh... lol??? I hope this is a joke.

I think by "angry" it meant players. 23 other players. It's a french site and it's translated by google.

I actually have been secretly wishing that the next BF in the series was WWII. I do not however, feel that only 3 maps would satiate anyones appetite. I would also like something on the scale of 124 persons per server.

Perhaps it's just a mini-preview of the PC 'port' of Frostbite? Or did Mirror's Edge also use Frostbite?

Mirror's Edge used Unreal Engine 3

because one of my most favorite mods was the official WWII mod for BFV. :p

I'd rather they keep this to the consoles and let the PC games have a full-scale Battlefield.

WW2 is sooooooo played out already in the game world but i can absolutely see them doing something like this for consoles since dice never had a crack at WW2 development on consoles.

CoD/MoH style games maybe, but the only WWII game I really know with huge maps, lots of people, and vehicle battles over land, sea, and air was BF1942.

even if the rumor said it's just a console game it would still be bad news. BF:H + BF:BC2 + this game.... that's a lot of work, so wouldn't that mean there'd be no resources for "BF3"?
